Can anyone advise on this please?
I am going to claim for delay to my journey today.
I had advance tickets for the 0900 Edinburgh to KX
This train was cancelled.
We were put on the 0930 to KX instead. This train arrived KX over 2 hours late.
On the delay repay form online (Virgin...
I notice one or two saying EC trains are horrendously overcrowded at the moment. Are Virgin still putting out seat reservations or is just one massive bun fight for a seat. I'm on the 0930 KX to Edinburgh Friday week with a 1st advance, so I am hoping it might be a bit quieter.
I have a 1st advance ticket for Friday 22nd Jan on the 1730 Euston to Glasgow Central.
I had a look at this service to see if it is running today just out of curiosity and I find it is terminating at Carlisle. Then at Carlisle you could get the 2112 Scotrail train via Dumfries to get to...
It's worth having a moan at Virgin if 1st class service is not provided. The other day when they could only provide one type of meal (meat) for everyone I complained and got £20 of vouchers sent to me as an apology.
It did seem an utter mess yesterday on the WCML.
I was on the 0938 Glasgow-Euston. Started badly with a 20 min delay due to overhead wire damage just outside Central. The train had to come in on platform 10. Then there was a 10 min delay close to Motherwell due to points. Add to that, the...
We travelled First Advance on the 1730 Euston to Glasgow on 30th October fully expecting a choice of 4 evening meals as stated on Virgin's website. We got an announcement about half an hour in saying it was steak night on this train. I just assumed that this was in addition to the stated menu...
Could someone please advise which company I claim for delay/repay from?
My journey was on Monday 9th Nov
0946 Southampton Central to Newcastle
Train company travelled on - Cross Country
I bought my ticket online via Virgin Trains website.
Do I address the claim to Virgin or Cross...
The time it takes to book tickets online to collect at the station is definitely getting longer with most companies.
I tried to book a return ticket Fratton to Weymouth 90 mins before departure. Only CrossCountry would let me book, offering collection in 15 mins.
Virgin, FGW, SWT and...
Forgive me I know a little about signalling but i'm no expert on the railways by any means by I wonder if anyone can offer an explanation to this.
I was standing on the Westbound platform at Bosham. There is a level crossing and signal at this station. Trains not stopping here go through at a...
Could anyone please tell me what type of train the 0946 Southampton Central to Newcastle will be on a weekday. If it's a Voyager train, is there a seating plan anywhere online I can view.
I'll be looking to book well in advance and might be tempted with 1st class. What will the 1st class...
Does it really take 2 hours from time of booking tickets online for them to be ready for collection from a fast ticket machine?
With Cross Country's website it says just 15 mins while others the full 2 hours. With technology nowadays, 2 hours seems pretty excessive.
I'm travelling from Preston to London Euston on Sunday 30th August.
I was hoping to travel on a 1st advance ticket but it seems that none are available when I try to book online.
If I try and book a Standard ticket I get the message 'no seat reservations available'.
This is the same...
I was on the 0938 Glasgow Central to Euston. Stopped at Nuneaton for half an hour, was told by train manager there was a broken down train causing problems but it was being moved. Then after getting underway again we ground to a halt in the countryside, a Manchester to Euston train kept us...
Going to have a little break at Cynghordy in a couple of months time. I realise that trains are limited here but does anyone who knows the Heart of Wales line area have any recommendations as to where to visit along this line? We have pencilled in Llandrindod Wells already, looks a nice place.
Thanks Goatboy, there is no problem double checking with people who obviously know a lot more than me about railways is there?
