No 1st advance or seat reservation available

I'm travelling from Preston to London Euston on Sunday 30th August.

I was hoping to travel on a 1st advance ticket but it seems that none are available when I try to book online.

If I try and book a Standard ticket I get the message 'no seat reservations available'.

This is the same for any train for that day leaving Preston for London.

Is it that i'm too early in trying to book my train for this day?

Be grateful for any advice.

Major improvement works along the West Coast Mainline are taking place during the August bank holiday weekend.
We'd hate for you to get caught in these improvement works, so if you are travelling between Saturday 29 and Monday 31 August, please check before you travel.
The improvements will be taking place between the following stations on our route:

• London Euston and Watford Junction
• Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central
• Milton Keynes Central and Rugby
• Sandwell & Dudley and Wolverhampton
• Wolverhampton and Crewe

These closures will affect some of our trains, but not all. For those that are affected, there will be extended journeys and rail replacement coaches. So, you'll need to plan carefully and allow longer to get to your destination if you choose to travel.
Please check routes (see section below) before you travel. We will be publishing a revised timetable of the affected days soon.

Preston to London(any Station) going via Doncaster.

There are advance fares showing which may be of use.

I've had a similar problem trying to find tickets from EUS to MAN on
Saturday 29th.

The advance fares consist of a normal anytime single to say Halifax or Leeds and an advance single to Kings Cross. You can't buy them as one transaction.

Burnley MR is the nearest place to Preston for EC Advances to London.
