Right, we might as well get down to it..
1. Does anybody know Bridgeton Railway Station in Glasgow? I see that it has three cycle parking things right next to an always staffed ticket kiosk. Has anybody ever used it? Is it safe to put a bike there for a few hours?
2. How long can you park...
I'm a bit of a novice in regards to very long journeys but I might, one day, go from Glasgow Central to Carlisle.
Would I just need to go to the standard Glasgow Central ticket booth for the ticket, or would I need to go somewhere else? Thanks a lot!
Hi there.
I'm hoping to go from Bridgeton to Newton (Lanark) tomorrow. I'm hoping to take the bicycle along. What should I do when I actually get on the train? Should I just stand in the doorway? I'm looking at going at 8am or 9am tomorrow.
I'll be cycling back home.
Thanks much!
Hi there.
Say I buy an off-peak return ticket from Glasgow Central to Paisley Gilmour Street around 10am, will this ticket be valid if I come back at 5pm (on a weekday)?
Thanks a lot!
Spotted this today. I was taking the 09:36 train from Bellgrove to Springburn. Ticket inspector comes up and this young guy, must have been 20-ish (not a ned, suited up) just barks out of nowhere "You've f***ing checked my ticket ya balloon" (the ticket guy was rather stout). I thought that...
Just read it on the BBC Scotland News section. Horrible news and horrible if you were on the busy platform when he done it..

Hi there.
Noticed a sign at Bellgrove Station saying that no trains will be stopping at Blairhill until the 25th August. Don't know what's happening there.
Hi there!
Noticed, a few days ago, that if you ignore those "Don't cross the line" signs you get a £200 fine at Dalreoch Station, but at Bellgrove you get a £1000 fine. Why the difference? Thanks a lot.
Hi there! A bit of a long shot but here goes..
Does anybody remember those crazy guys that worked at Paisley Gilmour Street in 2002 and 2003? Both of them must have worked for Scotrail and just shouted at customers. A Uni mate of mine got absolutely bawled at for accidently nearly bumping...
Is this thing only allowed when the train is full?
Yesterday on the way from Carntyne to Bellgrove, the train was absolutely mobbed. Not a seat to be had. This Walter Matthau looking ticket guy comes up to me and demands that I should be sitting down. I said "Where?" and he shot me a very...
I'm not thinking about doing this by the way.
A guy is at an unstaffed station, say Bellgrove in Glasgow, and he runs past the "Do Not Pass..£1000 Fine" sign. What happens? Would the BTP automatically come flying down?
Just that some nutter was just about to try it about 3pm. He looked...
What do you do here? Serious question.
You're in an almost empty carriage, a couple of people are sitting. One of them just sits up, proclaims himself to be the "son of God" and pulls out the biggest bloody knife you ever saw and starts knifing people left, right and center. You're next. How...
That is return values. (off-peak)
Why is the Carntyne price more expensive than the Springburn one? Bellgrove to Carntyne takes you about two minutes, when they take it slow, yet costs £1.70.
Bellgrove to Springburn is passing three stops (Duke Street, Alexandra Parade, Barnhill), yet is...
I always find that Bellgrove to Springburn is always a peaceful journey. Most of the time, there is NOBODY on there, even on the return journey. Empty.
What about you? Thanks.
Hi there!
We all know long train rides can be a bit of a pain, right? Sometimes, to relieve the boredom, I like to get the camera out and start video-ing the scenery as the train pasts various places. Is this kind of thing legal? Will a ticket inspector tell me to stop?
Thanks
I haven't actually had one yet, thank Christ. Have any of you had? Tales of anti-social behaviour please. Not trains pulling in, even though that might shock some of you. :)
Thanks.
Hi there! A train newbie here.
I was just at Carntyne Train Station in Glasgow on my way home tonight and this guy was taking pictures of the trains passing by, about a minute later, an announcement comes over the speakers saying that the person taking the pictures on the platform hasn't...
