If one or more of your booked trains on an Advance ticket is cancelled, and waiting for the next one would render your journey pointless so you decide not to travel, or make alternative arrangements, can you get a full refund for the unused ticket?
I'm not currently in that situation so can't...
ledbury-20251025. (Twitter/X link, possibly not viewable if you don't have an account)...
Just wondering what the reason for this is. It doesn't appear to be engineering work otherwise they'd say that, so is it crew shortage/don't want to work weekends? It's the start of half term week in...
I understand that when a train for which you have bought a 1st Class ticket is substituted with a train that has no 1st Class provision, you are entitled to the difference in price.
However if you bought an Advance 1st Class ticket some while ago, how do they know how much the equivalent...
I was just looking at a trip in the first week after new year, w/com 6th Jan. Unfortunately Trainsplit is giving the error page as they don't seem to go that far, despite it being the 12th week from now. I wanted to be ahead of the game to get the best priced tickets as I know they sell out...
Bit of a shambles travelling back from Bournemouth to Hereford today due to an emergency services incident in “the London area” disrupting many trains out of Paddington. Obviously very sad incident so one wouldn’t want to be unsympathetic, but the knock-on effects have been chaotic.
My 11:45...
Just a quick one - why are there stickers on the sockets saying “Plug socket for laptop battery chargers only”?
Are we not supposed to use them for our phones?
I’ve been quite ill since Saturday, but by Sunday afternoon I was feeling better so booked some tickets for a journey on Tuesday. However when Tuesday arrived I realised I was still not well enough to travel, and put it down to experience.
Today a refund from Trainsplit popped into my bank...
My OH has been reading Rail magazine and tells me something about in due course WMR trains from Hereford will not go through to New Street, so if you want to go there you'll have to change at Bromsgrove or walk from Moor Street. Haven't seen the article myself and been away so don't have a...
Mega disruption this morning due to a major points failure in Exeter. My tickets are Paignton to Taunton Advance and the return portion of a Hereford to Taunton Anytime Return.
Just heading for Taunton, having managed to get to Newton Abbot and now on a late running Paddington GWR. I see the...
I have an Advance ticket for Tenby to Cardiff Central, but the only timed part is Carmarthen to Cardiff. There is nothing stated on the ticket for the first leg. It says “valid on booked TFW services only”.
Booked through Trainsplit, which gave me an itinerary departing Tenby at 10:40 and...
Last week I was informed by email that I had to change my TPE password, and now the mixing deck format seems to have been replaced with something different and not as user friendly.
I almost always book on Trainsplit, using their "old site" which I'm now panicking about in case it disappears...
Did we ever establish whether the advice about taking a train either up to two hours earlier or later than your booked cancelled one entitles you to catch a subsequent earlier connecting train? Whole journey on Advance tickets, but different TOCs.
Have done a few searches on here, and I can’t find anything, below is the XC announcement about it made on 9th June…
Is there a discussion thread somewhere? I have questions!

Just looking at today’s Journey Check page and there are several cancellations. Granted not in the hundreds as per the worst of times, but what grinds my gears is that they are still using “due to a short notice change to the timetable” as their excuse… sorry I mean reason.
I’d hoped and...
A couple of weeks ago I was checking for Shrewsbury to Hereford services on Sunday 21st September, and found somewhere on the NRE info website that there are RRBs between Newport and Shrewsbury in both directions over several weekends in September, including that one 20th/21st. However the...
Keep getting error message:

Have managed to book my tickets on TPE so I don't think it's a general problem. Tickets are for end of August so maybe too far ahead for Trainsplit...
I was wondering whether any analysis is done of the scanning records from guards’/RPI’s records, and if there’s any follow up.
Today a guy across from me had an Advance ticket from a different station at a different time to the train he was on. His destination was correct, and it was the same...
Just booking Advance tickets on Trainsplit, route Southport to Aberdeen, departing 24th July at 08:21. I note it shows "long delay" at Haymarket, arriving at 13:27 and departing at 14:35. However the minimum connection time for HYM is 5 minutes and there's a 13:33 direct Aberdeen train, so why...
I boarded a Glasgow to Liverpool TPE today at Lancaster, and was looking for an unreserved seat (or preferably a pair, as nobody likes sitting next to strangers these days!). I know coach D is unreserved but as I'd boarded in C, it being the nearest door to where I was waiting on the platform, I...
I seem to recall that on at least one occasion in recent years there was a round of fares increases in May, although I may be mis-remembering. Just wondering whether there's anything known of in the pipeline in the next few months. I need an Anytime Return for the middle of May and don't want...
