Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to split a didcot to exeter ticket?
Just a normal offpeak return (not a day return).
I've tried the ticket splitting websites but they don't have anything to offer.
Thanks
So, I'm doing a multi-leg trip across Europe and I'm interested in travel insurance, specifically the part that covers cancellation, delays, and missed connections.
Take the following trip:
Leg 1 - Eurostar to Paris.
Leg 2 - Paris to Munich
Leg 3 - Munich to Poland.
All of them are part...
So, I had the misfortune of passing through New Street recently. I know they're still working on it, but I was on one of the new platforms and couldn't help but notice the lack of seating. There's also a dearth of it up on the concourse level - there may be waiting areas somewhere but they're...
I was interested in an October trip to Slovenia/Croatia.
Any suggestions for how to get there quickly and cheaply, ideally with a sleeper?
There seem to be lots of routes. The primary one that keeps coming back on Loco2 is via Zurich, where there's then a direct sleeper that passes through...
Hi All,
So, a return from Reading to Brighton, outward this saturday (28th), returning monday eve (about 6 to 7).
I'm seeing £41.50 for an offpeak return.
I'd prefer to only have one change.
I've tried split tickets but they don't seem to offer much/any saving. Advance tickets were...
So, I'm interested in travelling to budapest by rail (from London). I have of course looked at - http://www.seat61.com/Hungary.htm - but I'm having issues actually finding ticket prices.
Specifically, I want to do the "Scenic Route" option (Alberg Pass, Switzerland) one-way -...
I was wondering, what's the best way price-wise to get from Oxford or Didcot to East Grinstead.
Offpeak travel both directions (can commit to advances), outward on one day, back the next (so no day returns :-( ).
An offpeak from either to EGR is £45.10.
I'll likely want to split the...
Hi All,
So I was wondering if anyone could help with the following a return journey
Outward:
From either Oxford or Reading (ideally Reading) to Peterborough via London.
Date: friday 28th (after 16:00) or Saturday 29th (morning).
Return:
Sunday 30th (afternoon).
Offpeak return...
Hi All,
So I was wondering, what's the cheapest option for a offpeak Single journey from Loch Awe to Glasgow (Queen street) without using any
Advance tickets?
The standard single for this journey is £22.10.
I've managed to split ticket it down to:
Loch Awe - Tyndrum Lower [TYL]: £4.3...
I've just noticed - on the National Rail website if you search for a journey from GLQ to FTW, outward today (or whenever) and the return portion on a different day, it's showing that a return is £29.
However at the bottom it says it's a "Off-Peak Day Return".
So is this a mistake on the NR...
Hi all, I have a trip on the 23:40 from Euston coming up, with a standard shared berth.
Can anyone advise what sort of time I'll be able to board and take up residency of the berth?
Also, is there any good provision for waiting around Euston?
Thanks!
Looking at the highland rover 4 in 8 - http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/pr280f5ac35ce741014ad1426ad6f87f.aspx
The price: £81.50 or £53.80 with a Two Together
However, it says underneath it:
In addition to any time restrictions applying to this ticket, note that Two Together...
I came across the Falls of Cruachan station which is request only. According to the National Rail site http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/FOC/details.html :
It doesn't define "summer months" (but the PDF timetable seems to suggest end Oct), but more to the point - why can't it be used in...
I was wondering, is there an equivilent of the "travel anywhere for 7 days" ticket for the Highlands? I.e. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/70657.aspx
There's the highland rover of course, but that's slightly different (4 out of 8 days) -...
So, this morning about 7am, my friend got to Oxford station 20minutes before the train's scheduled departure with the intent of buying her tickets, strolling to the platform, getting the car-parking code, then enjoying a nice journey.
There were a couple of booths open, but the wait time was...
So, I was interested in taking a trip on the sleeper - london to glasgow - with a friend. Rather than bump an old topic I thought I'd start a new one.
A few things pop up:
- There seem to be just about no berths that aren't first class, and this is looking at the full 12 weeks in the future...
I have an advance ticket that has two legs. For the vast majority of the journey the two trains overlap with the first train I'm on leading the second. At no point does the second train overtake the first.
From a logistical perspective I can change at any of 5 or so stations between the two...
Hi,
So, I'm trying to figure out Peterborough to London (Kings Cross of course), and then transferring to Tube for Piccadilly circus. No Oyster cards, travelling offpeak both ways.
The problem is the fares:
- A regular Offpeak return (on the slow train) is £26.50 to KX - no problem. But...
Hi,
I'm taking this journey: Leamington (LMS) to Pangbourne (PAN).
For various reasons with the tickets I'm doing this by way of a single (offpeak) to Oxford, and then a offpeak from Oxford to Panbourne.
However, for the physical journey itself the NR website shows that the fastest option...
