Cheapest option from Loch Awe to Glasgow

Hi All,
So I was wondering, what's the cheapest option for a offpeak Single journey from Loch Awe to Glasgow (Queen street) without using any
Advance tickets?

The standard single for this journey is £22.10.

I've managed to split ticket it down to:
Loch Awe - Tyndrum Lower [TYL]: £4.3
Tyndrum Lower [TYL] - Arrochar & Tarbet [ART]: £4.3
Arrochar & Tarbet [ART] - Garelochhead [GCH]: £3.70
Garelochhead [GCH] - Glasgow: £6.90

Subtotal: £19.20
Is there a cheaper option?

Trainsplit suggests the following at £20.50:

LOCH AWE to ARROCHAR & TARBET
ANYTIME DAY S Single £9.90
Route: Valid via any permitted route.

ARROCHAR & TARBET to GARELOCHHEAD
ANYTIME DAY S Single £3.70
Route: Valid via any permitted route.

GARELOCHHEAD to GLASGOW STATIONS
ANYTIME DAY S Single £6.90
Route: Valid via any permitted route.

Have you thought about making the short journey on foot from Tyndrum Lower to Upper Tyndrum. You might be able to get two stations for the price of one so to speak.

It can certainly add a frisson to the journey when connections are tight.

Not to worry if you miss the train as there's plenty to do at the Green Wellie Store.
