Two eastbound automatic signal failed approaching Russell Square 09.35, trains passing through area under authority and RTO Response Technical Officer called to site.
Investigation starts 10.25, traction current discharged for safety shortly after.

Northbound was uphill, southbound was faster.
Even in 1985/86 lineside signed as '70' southbound from Amersham, could be past the speedo mark of "70" and approach the next un-marked graduation on the speedo, Chorleywood-Rickmansworth.
The increased frequency and faster speed will only come with resignalling, which hasn’t been authorised/funded yet.
With no luggage provision in the new trains, compared with the meagre stand-back areas by the doors and car end of the existing trains, I doubt the expected uptick will happen.

That is certainly correct on both counts.
When i started at Acton Town, the space occupied by the present Museum Depot was full of electrified sidings.
‘A’ Road is electrified until the Museum gate.
