Who's in a driver or conductor talent pool?

I am currently in the pool with Southeastern for Conductor, Train Driver and Station Staff. I have passed all 3 assessments.

Mock Trainee Train driver assessment course

I was contemplating this, but as I passed my drivers assessment last Friday, I realised I had saved money. There is no guarantee that you would do the course, then pass the actual TOC assessment afterwards.

3 Assessments for different jobs passed.

Recruitment contacted me on Monday, to say interviews appear to be a long way off. And I am 7th in the queue for a conductor interview. I was offered an interview for relief station staff, on a 12 month contract. I have decided to accept the interview on the basis, after 6 months I can re-apply...

Over the last year, I have applied for 3 jobs with my local TOC. First was Station Assistant last July. I passed, and I am still waiting for an interview. Secondly, I did the Conductor Assessment on 31st May, and again Passed, and still awaiting an interview. Yesterday I attended an assessment...

Difficulty in buying tickets at a Ticket Office.

Last night (18/06/2015). I arrived at my local station in order to purchase advanced tickets from London Euston to Crewe. I had Rail Vouchers from Delay Repay. The Journey times were Outward on 3rd July 2015 on the 10:10 service. A website quoted £29 single. I was told that that was not...

HOW TO BECOME A UK TRAIN CONDUCTOR book ?

Conductor Training - What to expect if successful.

I am probably really jumping the gun here, as I have not even had an interview or got the job. I am just wondering what to expect, should I be successful. I have seen what to expect, if your going for a Train Driving role, but can find nothing under the Trainee Conductor role. I am just...

HOW TO BECOME A UK TRAIN CONDUCTOR book ?

It prepared me in what to put on application forms, and also for the Bourdon tests, and ticket selling/checking tests. Hopefully it is preapring me well for the interview, whenever that happens. I only just did and passed my Assessment last Friday. I am now waiting for when a vacancy arises at...

Assessment done for Trainee Conductor on South Eastern

I had to wait about 5 months between the 2. I passed the station staff assessment for Cannon Street last year, to find, I have been put in the pool for my local area.

Assessment done for Trainee Conductor on South Eastern

I Passed my Assessment to be a Trainee Conductor on South Eastern Trains yesterday. As it happens, there were 9 of us at the start, and 4 went home early. We are now told it is just a waiting game, as the application does state Future Opportunities. So when a vacancy arises, we may get called...

    Left Gold Card on Train

All solved. Received an email, asking for photo evidence, and when I boarded my train. They wanted to check CCTV, and after giving chapter and verse, including the fact I reported the loss to Lost Property, it has now been approved.

Virgin: Train Manager v Onboard Manager

I assumed that Train Managers were Train Guards. I applied to Virgin Trains for this position, and got a response that they were not taking my application further, and in future to make sure I understand what I am applying for.

    Left Gold Card on Train

Thank you all. To date, it has still not been handed in, though, I am still awaiting authorisation to purchase a duplicate ticket. This will be £10. I have bought tickets that my pass would cover, and I do get those refunded. I just find it annoying, especially as I saw the ticket on the table...

    Left Gold Card on Train

I am so gutted. I rushed to get off me train at Gillingham tonight, then realised I had left my Gold Travelcard on the train. I quickly went to Enquiries, and after a few phone calls. It has not been found. I am so gutted. I need it for tomorrow, as I am going to Crewe. I just can't believe that...

How much of the Underground map have YOU covered?

I moved to London in 1988 from the East Midlands. I would say, I have covered the whole of the line except Watford, Croxley and Chesham on the Metropolitan Line. I have not done Heathrow Terminal 5 yet either. I managed to use the Jubilee Line as far as Charing Cross when Open. The Holborn to...

    SE'trn Looking for Drivers

I checked my Status Application, and it seems I have been removed from all 4 Depot's I applied for, but in the Future Opportunities for Gillingham Depot where I live.

    Queue Waiting.

I declined to say which station and TOC it is, because I have 2 job applications for them, and don't want to be seen to be criticising them.

    Queue Waiting.

When travelling on a train, a conductor will approach a passenger without a ticket. He/She will try and purchase a ticket, and is often questioned as to why a ticket was not purchased at the Station. More often that not the response is, 'There was a queue, and I would have missed the train'...
