That can't be right... what if you start with a paper ticket say Twyford-BZ6, have a Zones 3/4/5/6 travelcard on Oyster, and travel Twyford to Paddington? If touching out at Paddington results in a maximum cash fare I would be inclined to refuse to touch out until they resolve the bug...?

True but I don't think that forms part of the contract when I buy a ticket that has restrictions, it's the restriction code here which appears to permit travel in the evening peak (where the posters etc state to the contrary).

In cases of staff incompetence, buy ticket from the ticket machine, or board without a ticket. Rinse and repeat if necessary :)

If it's a rank they can't do that - I would've refused to pay :)
