I heard the train shuddering at about 90mph through winsford station and thought "hmm strange". Appears it was this tragedy in progress.
Is there a list of what new trains have been ordered and when they will be in use anywhere?
Maybe this could be accompanied by when current fleets will be withdrawn?

Network Rail have purchased a substantial amount of land around winsford station. I heard this from someone connected with the previous land owner.
Anyone have any extra info on future plans for winsford?
with capacity being limited on most of the network and places like manchester victoria/oxford road having limited through capacity will we see more use of existing and more new terminii appearing over the coming years in smaller towns for local services?

why dont we see more express intercity routes...
travelled today on wcml between hartford and acton bridge southbound.
this is a short section of 4 track rail.
we were moved to the *slow* line for a voyager to pass before back to the *fast* to hartford and beyond :)
the *slow* line/loop is just so noisy. like a loud grinding noise...

i pass pressure vessels of some soret. they are usually in pairs and sometimes with an accompanying hut.
They do not look operational whatever they are and i guess look older than 30 years.
