If it was maroon West Coast Railway Co. rolling stock, then it was probably the "Train of Hope" running about an hour late and being worked by "Scots Guardsman" from Crewe to Carlisle.
The "Ticket to Ride" is also due to pass through Winsford at 10:54 behind "Earl of Mount Edgcombe" working from Tyseley to Liverpool after a water stop at Crewe.
