    Atherstone & Polesworth?

That would be correct, think the only Northbound train is to Crewe (from Northampton) and calls at Polesworth around 7am. Very surprised Polesworth hasn't been seriously considered for closure. Although I believe the West Midlands Strategic Rail Authority (I think that's what they call...

    Atherstone & Polesworth?

Don't know if it helps, but Polesworth didn't have any services for something like 2 years between 2005 and 2007. I think.

    Station Name Changes

Northampton used to be Northampton Castle, I think?

Mother defeats gang of football yobs by staging railway track protest

No one deserves abuse when using public transport, but her stunt may well have caused a few people to be late (for work, etc.) further up the line which is a bit selfish. As someone who travels to a lot of football games by rail, I know what it can get like. But most of the time it's good...

    Chiltern Timetable from December

Good idea to put some more local services on between Leamington and Birmingham. I wonder if they will stop at every station though?

    67 018 on the Shropshires

Was on the 12:30 from Banbury to Leamington on Friday morning with this loco hauling the set.

    Reopenings

Depends if it's that "obvious" but Kenilworth being reopened would be excellent. Hopefully London Midland or Chiltern could look at a Leamington to Coventry shuttle which is what the line needs.

Best tube station to park at near to the M40?

Might not be the right section. What is the best tube station to park at in North/West London? Looking to get to Upton Park a week tomorrow evening for a football game at West Ham so won't dare driving into the middle of London, coming into London from the M40. Uxbridge is an option, but...

    Summer's Over

I travel to watch my club (Oxford) on the train on a regular basis. I've seen plenty of my fellow supporters drinking on trains without causing any trouble what so ever. I believe there is a lot of confusion regarding the laws about drinking to and from football games so many football fan just...

How do some train guards get away with not checking/charging for the tickets ?

I travelled from Leamington Spa to Cardiff earlier this month and my ticket was not checked once. Considering I changed a total of 7 times during the journey to Cardiff and back that is pretty shocking.

    Why does everybody hate XC?

My dislike for XC comes from the fact I use their rather poor and overcrowded service from Leamington to Coventry on a weekly basis. Plus Voyagers smell of feces.

    The Best & Worst TOCs

Best two would be Chiltern and WSMR. Worst two would be Cross Country and London Midland.

FGW trains idling at Oxford sidings overnight

Plenty of NIMBY types in Oxford to be fair and i'm saying that as someone who was born there and very proud of it too! God knows what the residents would be like if DRS starting using it as a nuclear flask train route. Not that it would ever happen. Anyway going back to the point of...

FGW trains idling at Oxford sidings overnight

Did I just cause a MASSIVE argument? Anyway I grew up on Walton Well Road, backing onto Lucy's foundry. That usually "out shouted" the railway sidings. Ironically, the new development is on the old site of that foundry.

What should Cross Country realistically do?

I use XC's Leamington to Coventry service regularly and the simple reason it's overcrowded is because there is only one train an hour. Leaving Leamington at xx:12 (or 13, changes here and there) and xx:25 from Coventry. It is regularly a four car Voyager.

FGW trains idling at Oxford sidings overnight

Would appear so. I used to live near these sidings and remember them being on all night. I didn't suffer from asthma as a result though!

FGW trains idling at Oxford sidings overnight

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPmSnYjBEHg Just found this video. Some of the statements seem a bit extreme. Thoughts anyone? And yes, you can't see the train that well.
