    Police at level crossings

This is the main problem IMO. Too many people seem to think it's the railway's fault for being in the way of their journey. It's a disgusting attitude.

    The Pretendolino thread

Seen tonight at Coventry going South. DVT on the front with 90041 on the back.

    'Hidden' stations

Brading and Lake stations on the Isle of Wight are quite hidden. Both down residential cul de sacs.

    WSMR to finish

Absolute shame! Went on WSMR in 2009 and it was excellent. Great food too.

    Lines under stadia

Is that the route of the proposed (?) Guided Busway between Luton and Dunstable? OT but Kenilworth Road is a dive. Awful place to watch football.

    Could you steal a train?

I seem to remember EWS losing a 66 around ten years ago. I think it turned up in South Wales somewhere. It was reported in RAIL. Don't think it was stolen though, just went missing. If that's possible.

    'Hidden' stations

I actually did this the other week at this very station! Getting from Aldershot to Reading is a right pain.

    Railway Myths

Myth no: 43532 - Everytime a car is involved in an incident at a Level Crossing, it's the driver's fault.

    Boxing Day football.

I know it's the Christmas shut down and everything - but Boxing day is one of the busiest day of the footballing calender, always seemed a bit bizarre there are no trains running at all especially seeing as many supporters (and undiserables who attach themselves to clubs) use the railways to...

How on earth did she get a driving license in the first place?

Passenger compares himself to war criminal

Tell me about it! I'd happily pay double my fare to travel on anything but a Voyager.

    Tunnels

Typical NIMBY's. Train horns are not there to annoy, they are there to save lives. Same people who moan about Ambulance sirens at night, usually.

Weird goings on at Leamington Spa this morning

First of all, I noticed a XC four car Voyager on the Up middle road waiting for the signal presumably towards Solihull/Coventry. After this, another XC four car Voyager rattled along the Down middle road, presumably towards Banbury. Then the first train train reversed wrong line to where...

Unacceptable train overcrowding to get worse, MPs say

Well the train catch every day (Leamington to Coventry) it's pretty much accepted by us regular users and we just get on with it knowing XC probably doesn't care too much.

Danger, evil nuclear trains will kill us all - media story

Jesus, hardly a bloody secret is it? Any trainspotter worth their salt knows flask trains are the best bet for some classic 37 action!

    Worst Railway Station in UK

Another vote for New Street here. Claustrophobic, dark and underground. Not nice.
