Certain sections of the A1 are single carriageway and therefore a 50 mph limit applies to PCVs. But these are often quite wide and straight - surely there is scope for increasing speed on these to roads to 60 mph?
I ran alongside a scheduled National Express service happily doing this speed at...
Buses have seen an increase in journey times since introduction of London-wide 20 mph limits. Now the London Underground is starting to get slowed down. Is national rail next ...
Does anyone know if a transport manager CPC (certificate of professional competence) is required to apply for managerial roles within the bus/coach industry?
If so how long / hard is the course? Is it more difficult than the train driver course?
Eventually when making new friends (on holiday for example) the ‘what do you do for a living ?’ question comes up. When you tell them your a train driver in (x) part of the country you can see their eyes glaze over or a comment about strikes or ‘I thought you was a doctor’. From there on the...

Many thanks.

Are there any other stations or sections...
Tram driver pay seems to be the lowest in the public transport sector - lower than buses that operate alongside them in some cases. HGV companies are offering very large incentives to join - £5000 in some cases.

Walk round unnecessary?
Having seen an increase in national express and megabus coaches on the road, how well used are these services ? Will train passengers turn to these much cheaper services ?
Is this extremely worrying or scaremongering ?

Do you prefer the sound of 2/3 speed Voith transmission found in 2nd gen DMUs, none - as found in the electric transmission of Voyager DMUs or the new fangled 6 speed ZF found in the latest DMUs with its many frequent changes ?
