This is where the English language can be called ridiculous. Rail Station suggests that it is where the rails become stationary, when in fact it is the trains that become stationary (as per the term "Train Station"). Anyway, call it what you like, it doesnt matter at all.

Perhaps you could buy a Rail Atlas? I think some editions have junction names, etc marked and they include all railways including some out of use ones too. Just a thought, Jonny
