I am very new to spotting, and photting, and made my 2nd trip out and chose Nuneaton, on wednesday. Does anyone else from here go to Nuneaton?
I must say that there are some friendly spotters there! One was helping me get the numbers of the Pendos as they sped through!
I had a really good day and will defo being going again, and I hope to go to one of the meets on here soon too.
I even had a laugh with one of the Pendo drivers!

What will the second phase of remodelling at Nuneaton involve? I had wondered whether the station might be provided with separate through lines - many other major WCML stations have fast centre lines (like Crewe and Stafford) for non-stop traffic. This will be more relevant after December 2008, when the new, accelerated Euston-Liverpool trains omit the Nuneaton stops.

Well the through line they ripped up about 3 years ago seems to be slowly re-building itself... Must be magic becuase when i was down at nunny on monday the 13th all the workers were just walking about.

Unless it was an extended tea break. 10 'til 2 and tehn they go home at half 3 :lol:

Martyn,
Im sometimes at nuneaton once in a while,
being in coventry its a change from pendo, voyager, desiro, pendo....

Might be going this week or maybee next... fares permitting.

The connection to the Leicester line is being reinstated (from the mainline rather than the curve to Saltley).

The sign on the office door on platform 1 about 'rail enthusiasts not embarrasing themselves by asking for trainspotting information' is classic though.

Never noticed that last time I was there, will ensure I have a look next time!

Was going to go to Nuneaton on Thursday, alas this will probably fall through.

Should I be going (currently tossing a coin over a decision between Nunny and a short trip in South Wales), I would be there by 1052, leaving around 1730. I'll send you a PM with further thoughts on Nuneaton tomorrow shortly.
