The one time I've travelled with Hull Trains, the guard began her announcement by introducing the all-female onboard crew by name - herself, the catering host and the driver. Found it quite a nice touch to be honest - felt a bit more personable.

Moorfields, Liverpool Lime Street (Low Level) and Liverpool Central (Wirral Line) all look remarkably similar to me at platform level, although I suppose there's a limit to how different a set of completely underground platforms can look.

Although I wasn't there for a particularly long time, Hellifield seemed a lovely place to wait for a train, quaint architecture, plenty of interest at the station and a small cafe and museum on the platform.

Most probably - and just an interesting point as an aside, during engineering works or "special turns", the PIS codes are often omitted from our schedule cards rendering it necessary to manually input the destination and make manual announcements. Some guards like to use the "closest" PIS code...

Certainly not the worst by any stretch, but having recently undertaken route learning in the Twickenham area with waits of up to half an hour when changing between trains, Twickenham struck me as a rather unpleasant place to wait for any extended amount of time. Cold and windy, not very much...

Shin-Koyasu and Keikyu Shinkoyasu stations in Japan are remarkably close to each other, and according to Google are only about a 45 metre (one minute) walk from each other, entrance to entrance. As @eldomtom2 says, however, there are plenty more examples in Japan.

When the main Windsor side lines are closed due to engineering works, Reading to Waterloo trains will sometimes call at Virginia Water twice due to the V-shaped platform arrangement requiring a shunt to maneuver between the Reading line and the Chertsey line (for travel to London via the main line).

Several of the Southeastern metro stations spring to mind when thinking about "most average station" - they all seem to look the same down that way. :D

Llandudno Junction?

Hellifield struck me as rather cosy and quaint last time I changed trains there, especially with the cafe and little museum on the platform open.

I had the same experience just a few weeks ago. My understanding is that seat reservations have been suspended pending the introduction of the 810s. All seats were unreserved on my recent journey.

There used to be a similar case in Guildford where the stop Woodbridge Retail Park was getting abbreviated to "Woodbridge Ret Pk" on some buses, and being announced as "Woodbridge Ret Pee Kay".
