    Worst Value Day (bus) ticket

It isn't a lot, but when you have to pay the extra 10p to buy one for the commute to work, as I do, it soon starts to add up...

    Worst Value Day (bus) ticket

Despite the Discovery ticket being £9.00 everywhere else, Stagecoach sells them for £9.10! Quite irritating if the first bus you need to take is a Stagecoach one.

    London Buses Discussion

I did think of that, but it appears the 302, which also terminates at Kensal Rise, is running absolutely fine - unless I'm missing something here?

    London Buses Discussion

Is anybody able to enlighten me on the current situation regarding Kensal Rise Station please? The TfL website says routes 28 and 452 are being cut short to Great Western Road and Ladbroke Grove Sainsburys respectively until 30 August due to "urban realm works". Yet route 52, which takes the...

    Busy or quiet?

Typically quiet, although if travelling alone at night - particularly on stopping services along certain lines - it's always reassuring to have a handful of other passengers onboard (so long as they aren't the undesirable kind!)

    Guess the Station...

Yep, that's the one, well done! :)

Thanks. Here's the next one. Good luck!

Bad experience pushing you off railways onto cars

Not necessarily something which would push me to shift over to a car (as I don't own one), but something which often does push me to use the bus instead - if there is one available - is certain late-night train journeys, particularly those of a stopping nature on quieter lines. It is often the...

    Weird train-related dreams

Had an incredibly strange one last night... Spurred on by Earlsfield station's rail replacement bus services last night, I had dreamt that the underlying reason was a massive redevelopment of the station, and as such it would be closed for many months. Fast forward to its completion, and I was...

    London Buses Discussion

Is anybody able to advise on whether the route 77 is running tomorrow (20 December) please? I'll be travelling to London and will need to use the route 77, but both TfL and bustimes.org claim that the route isn't running tomorrow. If for whatever reason this is the case, I will have to re-plan...

    National Express Coaches Discussion

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware that there are charging points between the seats in front, but the trouble is that there aren't actually any seats in front of where I've reserved (with it being the first row behind the driver), so I wasn't sure what to expect? :D

    National Express Coaches Discussion

I'll be travelling from London to Glasgow with National Express tomorrow, and have reserved the front seats on the right-hand side (directly behind the driver). Does anybody know if there are charging points available for these seats on the Caetano Levante coaches? Many thanks.

Advice Needed - Glasgow to Glenogil

Hi all. There's the possibility I may end up in Glasgow for a couple of days soon, and if so I'm planning to visit Redwings Mountains (horse sanctuary) in Glenogil. The only problem is I have very little idea how to go about getting there! The location is very remote, and there doesn't appear...

(Trivia) Railway stations which should be people

Surprised Benfleet (or rather Ben Fleet) hasn't been mentioned yet. Another "no-surname" example is Ash. Ince & Elton sounds like it could be the name of a new musical duo featuring Elton John!

    Buses taking the wrong route

Not a wrong turn away from the route, but rather a case of the driver not knowing about a diversion to avoid a closed road - Stagecoach route 2 in Guildford, we turned down Woodbridge Hill, driving past clear "road closed" signs and then spent the next however long trying to do a U-turn on a...

Trivia: London Bus Stops Which Share Names With TV Shows

Hi all. Earlier today I had to make a journey from Earlsfield to Waterloo on a London bus. En route, we stopped at a stop called "The Chase" (routes 77, 87, 452 and N87) and it got me wondering how many London bus stops share names with TV shows. Another example I can think of off the top of...

    Vaccine passports or masks?

Obviously a difficult choice, but I have decided to choose mandatory masks... I have nothing against being vaccinated, but introducing stupid little cards to prove what you then can and can't do screams out radical invasion of freedom (particularly to those who can't be vaccinated or haven't...
