£174 for a window seat is a bit too steep for me.
That'd be the next 5 or 6 Saturday's worth of trains for me.

I prefer an aisle seat anyway, can stretch legs out more easily, and less inconvenient for using the buffet car or toilets.

In that case, the £174 was for a window seat in the solo part of a 1+2, so it's both a window seat and an isle seat.
The only way to guarantee a window is to buy a seat at a table for 2 (or if you have a group of 4 and 2 are happy to have isle seats that works too)

It certainly is 50050, having worked up from Eastleigh the other day on the 5Z47 with 57302.

In case anyone is wondering, 57003 stayed at Eastleigh.

According to faceache the SRPS tour to Inverness next week will now be 40013 instead of the 45. Not great, I suppose the thing is probably at least a half of the peeps who travel on SRPS tour don't live in Scotland so have to travel and get hotels etc so it's quite an investment in time and money just to get to the tour, dunno where this leaves them going forward it may put bookings off if they can't sort out the booked traction, it's always been the same I suppose but with money getting tight all round it will affect things

Also there's a new 86/87 tour going to London liv St and other Essex bits

I wouldn't personally be put off by 40013 unless you were a diehard Peak basher, though they were pretty rare in Inverness. Travelling in MK1 stock with a 40 would be good audio wise especially in beautiful Scotland, but each to his own.

If that is the one you are looking for its meant to leave Waverley, go through dalmeny and cross the forth bridge. The tour will then go around the fife circle and go onto the line that passes culross/longannet at dunfermline and this line will take them to alloa and the tour is meant to then go through stirling, falkirk and linlithgow before returning back to waverley
