I have a mate who works there! And yea like every one say dont keep all eggs in one basket so am applying for other jobs else where as well! Does appear a strange way to do things but guess it work for he TOC!

Hi all,
I've been invited to the assessment centre for more assessments. The email suggests individual and group based assessments and if I pass, an interview. Can anyone shed any light on what this might entail please? Thanks in advance

O rite well i went straight to interview after that but did assessment for host and that was team exercises, Eg witch items would you need if on a deserted island, a basic maths test and a group presentation

TM swansea i did online test and was then called in for interview
Was this Conductor Bristol TM that was advertised in May?

How soon after completing the online numerical test should you get sent the following test? I completed the numerical test earlier today for the Fratton conductor job and was told I'd receive the next test (of 4) afterwards if I was successful but am yet to receive it, does this mean I probably failed or should I be more patient?

Can be up to 24 hours but usual with on a few hours

I emailed the GWR recruitment line and got the second test through 5 minutes after they replied so I think there must have been an issue in sending it. Now to wait for the results of the second test!

Thanks! I got an email saying I passed stage 1 (the 4 tests) and will be contacted if they want to interview. Fingers crossed!

They came back to me saying they are not progressing my application as "One of the requirements is that you must be able to get to your location of work within one hour. Based on your address and the travel information that you have provided, this does not look achievable for the required shift times." Which is annoying as I believe I am within the 60 minutes travel time they asked for (although only just) but also I wish they could've told me that before making me sit all those tests!

Not sure what part of South Wales you are in, I assume more towards Swansea based on your previous posts... but could you consider Bristol? There are usually more vacancies there and it could be a foot in the door.

You definitely have my sympathy.
I'm looking to relocate towards the Somerset area. The reason I mention this is because I have accommodation readily available which is well within commuting distance of several GWR Stations I've applied for, including the same job role I currently do up North for over a decade, yet no interview offers at all. (I've passed the online Customer Service scenarios test)
GWR assured me several months ago that as long as I mention on my application I have accommodation available (I have done so) they won't automatically disqualify me because of my current home address being several hours away from where the jobs would be based.

I've just got conditional offer for as Train manager.and I have medical assessment coming soon. What I am concerned about now is my High Blood pressure. I have white coat syndrome. Which means when someone clinician measures my BP it spikes. Other than that its under control.
Will that be a problem? I do have mediciation for emergency
Do i have to mention that on the form

Hi it was back last summer I went into the talent pool. Have recently passed TFW train manager too so also in the talent pool there for Cardiff mainline (only since March) so wondering which will come up first. Hoping GWR won’t be too long now, they did estimate a year or so at the time when I passed.
