C2C line blocked and nothing running. And apparently the strongest winds haven't reached here yet.

And out fence has blown down!

Unfortunately I am required at work. Is the overground line open at west Croydon? Or SwT at Wimbledon?

Shall I say it again?...

NO TRAINS AROUND LONDON UNTIL AFTER 0900.

They have been warning to check websites etc since Friday and it was all over the news, websites, twitter etc since about 1800 yesterday that no trains would run this morning.

You won't be getting to work by train until after0900 today.

Was sent with a driver to examine the line this morning. Did about 2 miles before hitting a tree. Been stuck here for an hour now and have been told the p-way teams are understandably swamped. Thank god we were sent empties rather than in service. My biggest concern now is that there are quite a few larger trees that look like that could fall on top of us, not a great start to the day..

Where is that?

I see they have cancelled some of the trains that were unlikely to be running. It's a shame they can't clear out all the cancelled trains and just include those that are running. Even better, have an option to switch on and off the cancelled services. This if course is something for the future rather than now.

Why aren't people checking the wealth of information out there before leaving home? Twitter, tfl, nat rail, rail companies, police etc etc. Everyone needs to as it seems just about everything is buggered. Trains, major roads, ferry's, cranes and trees falling all over.

Wires down at New South Gate

As I suggested in this thread yesterday, if it was essential to be in work today, then you should of taken the car, or booked a hotel (I admit most places were fully booked, but plenty of warning)

have just turned the radio on to hear Radio 5 asking some guy from the railways why they hadn't done more to let people know about the disruption this morning, because some people weren't aware

Could've sworn it was all over the news yesterday ...

People think they know best.

FCC are putting tweets out saying no trains running until at least 0900. People are relying to them saying "but is the 0745 Cambridge to London still running though?"! I think some people are incapable of reading?

I don't think any employer in the south will discipline any staff for not getting in this morning. Every authority and transport company is advising to stay indoors and warning against any travel until late morning.

Unfortunately I don't drive and get paid by the hour so if I don't work I don't get paid. I will try to take the 250 to Brixton and get the tube.

Others will be in your position and whilst it's not ideal it's not worth risking your safety over. I don't know what you do but is your work even open for business this morning?

To be fair to the trains though they have been stating no trains this morning for a long time.

FCC now say it's unlikely any service after 0900 today. GA mentioning nothing until at least 1000 now.

All govia websites are effectively down, NRE keeps having intermittent downtime. Glad I gave up hope and decided to work from home, trying to get reliable info this morning is proving difficult. Twitter would be ok if southeastern weren't trying to placate everyone asking the questions answered by every SE tweet for the past hour!

NRE are listing trains from Guildford before 9am but on tweeter SWT now say no trains before 9am. I've asked for clataifcation. Seems to be a change based on latest info. So expect those on all be marked as cancelled, unless they get left as simply delayed.

Are there any power supply issues across the networks at all?

If by power supply issues you mean overhead wires etc then yes, both the GN and TL lines have trees on the wires bringing ohle down. Would guess other lines suffering to.

29 trees blocking SWT network including at Surbiton.

The wind didn't sound to bad in the night. No worse than when out walking during the afternoon. However it clearly was. No rain the Guildford now.

The latter two of which are now suspended... And I bet will take longer to recover than those with managed network suspensions... :)

Live departure boards not working, checked EMT's twitter. The line between bedford and London is shut until 12pm due to trees on the line. Trees are on the overhead power lines at St Albans. No alternative route from Leicester or Derby via Euston due to obstructions near London Euston.

Does anyone know what's happening on the WCML? London Midland have tweeted that there are no trains between Euston and Northampton, but Virgin's Twitter is silent. National Rail show both as running a normal service. Any ideas as I know someone who is about to set off to Milton Keynes thinking he can get into London.

Nottingham station is a mess...we've just been there! no departure boards, staff abused, trains delayed, overcrowding!

Read the post before my previous post which states there is obstructions on the line close to Euston station.

Safe to say now services are likely to be running

NRE show Virgin as
London Euston and Milton Keynes Central

There is a tree on the line in the Bushey area. Trains between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central are being delayed by up to 60 minutes.

No power supply issues that I am aware of, but pretty much every area of the network is affected by fallen trees. We've had to stop for the 4th time now, but luckily we have p-way riding with us and clearing the line as we go.

Between the parallel lines
Latest from Virgin is that trains into/out of Euston are suspended because a tree is resting on the OHLE near Euston. This is of course meaning there is no power to said wires.
