I believe it has come up here before - I have tried to find the discussion, to no avail - but what happened to the Enviro 400 MMCs on the X98/X99? I know they're now in Burnley, but I can't see why Transdev moved them, seen as they'd spent quite a bit of money and effort on branding efforts, much of which is still around Leeds.

I think they moved over to provide extra capacity to the mainline routes in Burnley.

There were reports of the vehicles being vandalised which added to any maintenace etc time off the road. All four being in use on the same day was a rarity. Also it makes sense for them to be at Burnley in terms of maintenance being a standard vehicle type there

I understand it was damage rather than vandalism. The E400s struggled with foliage and street furniture in East Keswick in particular. 2017 was quite bashed by the time it finally went for repaint.

Transdev not having a good morning so far due to the closure of M65 between Accrington and Burnley in both directions with many of Burnley's services suffering big delays this morning as traffic is forced onto local roads to get round the closure.

Routes affected are Burnley's Mainline services to/form Clitheroe & Accrington and also Blackburn's 152 Hotline and X43 with extra traffic heading from Burnley along A682.

It seems most services are running with delays of up to 60mins or more.

More like 2 - 2.5 hours for the M1/M2/152. Also severe delays on the Burnley local routes 1 and 5. Nothing to be done about it, the traffic just completely ground to a halt. No buses from Padiham arrived in Burnley for over two hours from about 08:15, and the other direction was just as bad.

Sadly one person has died as a result of the crash that closed the M65 this morning.

Just thinking of what happened in/around Burnley with the unfortunate incident which closed M65 yesterday considering how late some services ended up running what would have happened with drivers breaks?

Also did this have a knock on affect with other services with drivers not being able to take off their next piece?

Some changes and improvements are expected to be coming "soon" to the new Transdev Go App that launched last April:
Thank you to everyone who has been bearing with us since the launch of the new #TransdevGo.
We are working with our suppliers to launch a package of improvements, inc more accurate bus tracking.
Thanks for your patience - more improvements are coming!

That's good news, the bus tracking on the new app isn't great and I miss not being able to track buses whilst looking at the timetable.

That's the first I've ever seen from Transdev admitting the new app is anything other than marvelous.

They did some time back say they would be making improvements to the app.

Whislt its commented on in the East Yorkshire thread worth noting here that the 14 in York is moving to East Yorkshire from 10 November
We’re adjusting the timetable on York Locals 12 to ensure a smoother and more reliable journey for you. At the same time, we will take over service 14 under contract from the City of York Council, currently operated by our friends at Transdev, with a slightly revised evening timetable. Service 14 will follow the same route to and from Foxwood and Woodthorpe as the 12 for consistency.

Regarding the boost to Coastliner services, what service number will these services use? There is no differentiation between the 840 and 843 between York and Leeds as they both use the same route. Could these extra services be given a different service number?

Also, have any of the vehicles needed to provide these services arrived at Rawcliffe Depot yet? I'm aware 2 are coming from Harrogate, but I believe another 2 are needed, any idea where the other 2 will be coming from?

The York shorts are 843s. 3 buses are needed all coming from Harrogate.

1860 has been added to the first two that were announced as transferred. Hasn't worked for a couple of months as it needs a new engine. 1867 should be an easy transfer as itsi n Transdev Go livery but 1871 will need a repaint and the days are ticking by but it remains in use at Harrogate.

1860 has been back in use at Harrogate for a couple of weeks now. Its tracking as 1834 on bus times.

Explains then how the West Yorkshire Information Service fleetlist has it noted as being in Transdev Go livery; presumably that will also be applied to 1871. Bit odd that 1860 hasn't been pictured on Flickr etc so painted but then its probably being mistaken as being 1867.
Harrogate is struggling with the Volvo Electrics - 805 having been absent for months managed half a days work in mid September , 801 gave in the follwing week and yesterday 802 had to towed back to the depot. B7RLEs 1838 and 1867, if the tracking is right, currently in use on the current electric routes which have weekday peak period requiremnt of 7.

1860 hasn’t been repainted yet.

It’s been confirmed by Paul Turner from Transdev that the X41 Red Express will have two deckers allocated along with two singles once the B9s move to Blackburn in the upcoming reshuffle.

After six years, 1868 is getting a repaint and will be going blue. It’ll be a spare.

Complaints of overcrowding have reached the local press -

Transdev generally seem to be short of deckers. Blackburn only has 11, with the 152 having a PVR of 8, plus two are clearly needed for the X41, not considering if any other journeys could do with the capacity. Burnley still don't look like they have managed to increase the Mainline capacity as planned. Are the new short Coastliner trips going to be OK with singles?

I don't know if they're new to Mainline or just moved from other branches, but I see double decks on the M4 in the peaks fairly often now, whereas it used to be a rarity that I might comment on.

As they are additional services on top of the current level of service, at this stage it feels like any additional capacity is good capacity – I would have thought it unlikely that the increase to a 20 minute frequency would lead to passenger numbers increasing by 50% – at least, not in the short term. And if they're putting buses on the route that are over 15 years old then the short term is all we're really looking at – they'll need to be replaced in a few years so if passenger numbers have grown in that time then they can be upgraded to double-deckers without disrupting the fleet elsewhere.

I have also noticed more double deckers running the M2 to Clitheroe, mainly at peak times, but even saw an Enviro 400 MMC on a Sunday evening the other week.

I wonder how much of this overcrowding is due to the £2 fare?

I don’t know what the fare used to be between Accrington and Manchester but I bet it was a lot more than £2

Pre-Covid I used to use the All-Transdev ticket quite a lot, so I bought the 10 for £80 packages. It was worth using one just for 2 journeys if catching one of the express journeys from Manchester.

Transdev is using all 3 of the Versas based in York on Coastliner (210, 211 and 212) whilst the B7s Rawcliffe are expecting are still in Harrogate. Any idea how long this will be the case for? I notice that one Mellor (62) is on short term lease to York from Rosso to help out on York Locals services.

Mellors 61-63 were to be repainted for use at York but have been transferred early to allow the Versas to work the Coastliner extras to Leeds.
Harrogate are using Transdev Go Versa 293 and a plain white on loan ADL E200 whilst awaiting the Merc Electrics entering service. Once that happens B7RLE 1867 should transfer quickly as it is Transdev Go livery. 1860 and 1871 need a repaint first. To muddy matters Transdev Go B7RLE 1734 has also been seen at the Starbeck depot but not so far used. Could that be York bound?

Cross-posting from the £2 fare thread, does anyone know the rationale or history behind Transdev's zonal tickets in Lancashire?

There is a Blackburn Local zone, day ticket £5.30, just covering Blackburn.

For an extra 70p you can get the Blackburn day ticket, £6, which also covers the whole of the Hyndburn district (Accrington etc) plus Darwen.

The Burnley zone and Pendle zone day tickets are also £6, but to travel between Burnley and Pendle you would need the Lancashire ticket, costing £9.

It seems a bit odd that you can get Blackburn and Hyndburn for £6, but for Burnley and Pendle, which I would say have quite a similar relationship, you have to fork out £9. I get that combining the Burnley and Pendle tickets would theoretically allow you to do something like Accrington to Barnoldswick very cheaply, but for journeys from Burnley to Brierfield, Nelson and Colne, which is surely where the demand is, £9 seems extremely high.

Then there's also the Rossendale day ticket anomalously priced at £7, which is a hangover from Rosso when it was still council run charging higher prices, plus it does cover quite a wide area. And if you live in the Ribble Valley district there is no local ticket, just the Lancashire one at £9.

It's somewhat surprising when you see that the West Yorkshire plus ticket (£6) which is valid on Transdev routes through West Yorkshire, Skipton and Grassington is also valid as far as Colne from Keighley and Rochdale from Halifax (and to Barnoldswick from Skipton).

Apparently from 16 November Transdev Burnley is revising X43 Burnley-Manchester service again by adding extra services during the Christmas Markets, how often will these extra services operate and will they still be operated with MMC400s or will other vehicles from Burnley's fleet operate the extras?

They're advertising getting to the Christmas markets using the X43.

They mention extra buses on Saturdays but no mention of frequency increases or a new timetable, so I'd assume any extras are likely to be duplicates at the busiest times.
