We run down the hill to the train station only to find that we missed the train we planned to catch and instead wait for the 06:57 GA Service to Brampton (Suffolk) arriving there at 07:05 Wednesday Morning

Leaving the railway station, we spend some time exploring the environs and decide upon a change of mode of travel, so we retrace our steps to the bus stop near to the railway station and board the 0947 Anglia Bus and Coach service 522 to Cox Common (Oak Tree Farm) that arrives there at 0957 on Wednesday morning.

We decide the lure of the omnibus cannot be denied, so we walk to the bus stop on Angel Drove where we board the 0830 Stagecoach in Cambridgeshire service 9 to Cambridge (Drummer Street Bus Station) that arrives there at 0920 on Tuesday morning

We walk to the railway station and board the 10:12 Greater Anglia service to Norwich arriving there at 11:30 Tuesday Morning.

HOLD HOLD HOLD

Can we please have an adjudication on the distance we are allowed to walk in this game (or a time limit)? The move I've quoted above is an example of a walk that’s been made in this game, in this case taking nearly 20mins. This isn't the first time such a move has taken place and although I except a short walk can be taken, there has to be a limit (especially if there are transport services available from the location the walk is starting out from).

I've put in a hold because I would like the ruling on this to be confirmed by Zoe so that we are all clear on what is a valid walk (I included the current rule on walking below).

Game moves
Walking
You may walk in order to change modes but you may not walk between stations of the same mode although you may walk to a different bus stop at the same location for example by crossing the road in order to travel in a different direction.

I don't mind a short walk but I agree that a 20 minute walk is excessive here and more so as there is alternative transport available. I will declare the above move void so we are now back at Cambridge at 0920 on Tuesday and as per the rules Trainfan has 1 hour to post a new move starting from 17:36 or it will become open floor. The idea of the games is that you continue from the station/stop where the previous post left you. There isn't always a bus stop immediately outside the station so sometimes a short walk is required but this should only be to a bus stop that would be considered serving the station. I'd prefer that we kept to this rather than permit walking to any bus stop within an arbitary limit.

Sorry, had no Idea it was that long a walk from the bus station,

I don't have the time right now, so Open Floor.

RESUME

Since I was the person who made what has been ruled as the last valid posting, I cannot post again. It is 0920 on Tuesday morning. We are at Cambridge (Drummer Street bus station).

Back to a more standardised unrestricted omnibus service, we walk to the standard bus stop and board the 1108 Stagecoach in the Fens service 66 to St Neots (Market Square) that arrives at 1144 on Tuesday morning.

Let's take the 12:05 Stagecoach X5 service towards Oxford arriving at Buckingham bus stand at 13:50, Tuesday afternoon.

Y'all might want to check out the Arriva website at this point.

What a shame that we broke that last journey on the X5, as this is quite an interesting route. We resign ourself therefore to wait for the next service on the same route to turn up at the bus stop and we then board the 1420 Stagecoach in Bedford service X5 to Oxford (Gloucester Green bus station) that arrives there at 1515 on Tuesday afternoon.

Dah, I was really hoping someone would take one of the local services from Buckingham!

I'm guessing you won't accept my original proposal due to walk length. Get the 15:28 Stagecoach S1 to Whitney, arriving 16:12 on Tuesday.

Absolutely spot on with your assumption. Don't forget we have very recently had an adjudication on the matter of "walking". Also there is a new rule to say that you have to name both the settlement and the road where disembarkation occurs when using either bus or coach travel, which is essential to be known to the following contestant.

--- old post above --- --- new post below ---

Your posting of "Whitney" had me searching my atlas of the Oxford area without success, so I double checked with the timetable of that last journey and found the point of disembarkation to be...Witney (Market Square).

Based on this, I will say.....

A 15 minute wait at the bus stop sees the arrival of our onward connection, so we board the 1627 Stagecoach in Oxfordshire service S1 to Carterton (Bovingdon Road) that arrives there at 1647 on Tuesday afternoon.

Not many options here for onward transport so we wait for the next Stagecoach in Oxfordshire S1 service at 1710 but this time alighting at Brize Norton, church at 1722 on Tuesday.

After a swift pint (as the village its self is a walk down a hill on a narrow road), we catch the 18:59 Stagecoach in Oxfordshire service 233 from the White Hart to Witney, opposite Tetbury Drive, arriving there at 19:03 Tuesday evening
