They're just teasing us by putting the runs in every week and then cancelling them.

There was a unit sat at Falkirk high last night, first class had complementary newspapers in place already. The interior and facade looks very smart. I’m quite looking forward to their introduction

Does anyone have some more pictures of first class? It's not often photographed.

The light engine move to Newton Aycliffe has set off, so we should see another delivery tonight.

Looks like tonight run was cancelled at the last minute. Loco is just headed back light engine to Tyne Yard.

Anyone know how many 385s have been fitted with the modified windshields? The only units I have confirmed are 385104 and 385005.

385107 at Aycliffe has the new screens, has done for a few weeks.

Does E-G need first class? It’s (roughly) a 50 min commuting line, I’d rather the extra seats
And I'd rather have ScotRail put some wheelchair accessibility into First class (there's a total of zero wheelchair spaces in the current fleet) - but, it isn't happening. First class is there because people will pay for it, if it wasn't making money at some stage it'd get removed since it's hardly in anyone's interest to be carting around a fresh air cabin for most of the day.

I would rather they got some of the Edinburgh park services fixed before bothering about FC. Stopping some of the Falkirk high services (which most times when I go to haymarket have plenty capacity) at Edinburgh park would help remove some of the strain on allow service. Those overcrowded unventilated 158s are torture most nights.

I'm with you on Edinburgh Park, it is a useful station.

agreed but a stop would have an adverse impact on overall journey time, which was the main driver behind improvements to the flagship E&G route.
Also agreed, however, with creative thinking it could be possible at some stage. In any case, we're perhaps veering off topic again…

the performance of the 385s ought to make light of the additional stop. On the end to end journey time, is the aspiration for all journeys to be 42 minutes or less? Most, but not all. The timetablers have work to do to fit in this stop.

Edinburgh Park gets enough stops/capacity as it is and is scheduled to get more. The rest of the E&G needs it far more and the affect on journey times isn’t worth stopping at Park.

As per my post last week it has been confirmed today that there will be 2x 4 car 385s in passenger service from Monday 23rd July.
