I'd imagine this would be Alistair Morton, the last Chairman of the British Railways Board, which wound up in 2001.

A short freight branch line once existed in the 20th century that ran along a built-up street, coming off a main line. Where was this freight line located?

Not Bridgwater. I’ll throw out another clue. This freight branch was used to serve a military establishment.

The signal boxes along the Syston to Peterborough line all have one thing in common, except one.

Which is it, and why is it the only one which can be switched out.

I don’t know which one it is, but there are loads of level crossings out there so do all the others control a set of gates?
