Clue; It was originally built to serve a nearby Military establishment and it was originally intended to extend the line further although this never happened.

It was Sandgate which was actually at Seabrook and close to Shorncliffe Camp part of which is still used by the Army. The original intention was that the line should continue to Folkestone Harbour but that never got beyond the planning stage.
