I'll have a shot with "Metropolitan and Great Central Joint and Great Western and Great Central Joint Committees" (myself and another poster struggled through this "tangle" in a discussion early in 2020 on "Memorabilia etc.", about different editions of the Ian Allan Pre-Grouping Atlas and Gazetteer getting things right or not-so-right).

What was the number of the steam locomotive involved in the St Johns (Lewisham) disaster in 1957?
I think it was a Battle of Britain. Maybe ‘603 Squadron’ (not sure of the number)?

That's the one....34066. She seemed to be rather unlucky on the South Eastern Division, having run through the headshunt and gone down the bank onto the approach road at the nearby Hither Green Continental Freight Terminal about three years after the St Johns accident. IIRC, she was transferred to Salisbury after the completion of Stage 2 of the Kent Coast electrification in 1962 and became a regular sight on the West Of England main line.

In the Lewisham accident the viaduct carrying the Nunhead-Lewisham line that partly collapsed dated from 1929. Originally the trains from the Nunhead direction had gone somewhere else. What was their original terminus?
