Just got invited for interview for this role & I'm slightly terrified for the group portion haha - think I understand the task prioritisation activity & how to prep for it, but was wondering if you would mind elaborating on what you mean by marketing activity ? I can't get my head round what it might entail & it's got me worried

Don't overtime it ,it might be different per interview so what I'd say is take in the information they give you on the day ,clearly categories each task and then one by one find a solution /option that for each category.Hi,

The interview team are really friendly and arnt there to trick you with anything .

Well done on passing your interview. I have mine in over a week and I am so nervous. What were the questions on marketing and prioritising? Interview questions too? Are you with Leeds?
Lol I'm doing my best not to go crazy, I'm just quite nervous as I haven't had a job interview in a good few years. Thank you for the reassurance though, it sounds silly but it's nice to hear someone else confirm that the interviewers aren't actually there to terrorise us :P

Honestly this was my first in 6 years and I felt the same but it was a really relaxed process .I looked online for hints and tips and half of what I found wasn't even used.

It's a relaxed day with 2 scenarios ,you are split into two groups and then given the task(the task can change)
Then if you pass these two tasks you are invited for a face to face interview on the day with questions on yourself (tell me about a time ect )
This interview also includes role play scenarios which can change .

Got this after the initial application "After careful consideration, we’re sorry to let you know that we won’t be able to move forward with your application this time. This is one of our safety-critical roles which falls under strict RSSB regulations. Based on your responses, you have not met the criteria."
Which is a bit suprising as I've been a warehouse for a while which my company considers safety critical and now I manage those doing that role so it was a bit suprising.

Applied for trainee conductor role at Manchester and Wigan….
Heard back from Manchester fairly quickly to say sorry this is a safety critical role etc. but not heard back from Wigan as of yet and says still ‘under consideration’ on my portal when I log in.
Is it safe to assume I will more than likely get the same response or could the Manchester sift have been down to distance or sheer numbers applying for Manchester over Wigan.
Any info would be great, thanks.

No idea I just filled out both applications the same though so not sure why I wouldn’t get the same response from the Wigan depot and why that status has changed to ‘under consideration’

Yeah just about with Manchester but I am closer to Wigan and the traffic isn’t as bad as going into Manchester City centre

Hello, can anyone give me advice on what to do on the online assessments since the ones I did twice before gives you very little time to read and answer the questions? I can't help but re-read the questions and occasionally impulsively put in answers that may be wrong. I'd love to be a conductor and I have a mild learning disability.

Hi Jason. If it’s a situational judgment test just put the answer that most fits what you would do in a given situation. Don’t overthink it, don’t re-read. The results will show your natural aptitude. It doesn’t matter if you don’t complete them all.

It was a Maths and English tests that I were given. I wasn't given much time to answer them.

Congratulations on getting on the course, it's a great job and I'm sure you'll love it.
With your location I'm guessing your course will be in Manchester so can't help on that but I can't imagine it'll be to dissimilar to mine when I was in Leeds.
It's Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm ish there will likely be days when you finish early.
You'll learn all elements of the railway eg signalling, track safety, emergency protection, dispatching etc etc but the trainers are very good and the course is designed to get people off the street with no experience upto competent conductors.
I've not seen it personally but there are definitely instances where people have been kicked off the course for a variety of reasons. It shouldn't be a worry though, if you put the effort in and have the correct attitude you will be fine.
