Northumberland County Council official video here:The press releases (haven't watched the video) don't actually mention funding being approved.

at around the 1:00 mark the leader of the council Glen Sanderson confirms that the minister has fully funded the project and the council has provided more money towards it as well.
Presumably he meant "all the money [they said they would] ...". Or that the Council money "to help it on its way" covers non-core expenditure?Northumberland County Council official video here:at around the 1:00 mark the leader of the council Glen Sanderson confirms that the minister has fully funded the project and the council has provided more money towards it as well.
It would be nice and make things a lot clearer. I think with this project being led by Northumberland CC rather than central government they are funding a lot of the enabling works such as Highways / car park improvements.Presumably he meant "all the money [they said they would] ...". Or that the Council money "to help it on its way" covers non-core expenditure?
As ever, it would be nice to see all the costs and funding clearly side by side.
Rarely have I seen a photo of a person less comfortable in PPE. I'd like to know what the explanation was for an uncovered footbridge in Scotland though.
A photo op for the local MSP for Reston Says that it's opening in March 2024, but a response suggests that the replacement of Markle LC may delay this.
You mean East Linton, I think.

Oops. Senior moment, CorrectedYou mean East Linton, I think.
Why? We're not in the Arctic and East Linton will be drier than a lot of England and Wales.Rarely have I seen a photo of a person less comfortable in PPE. I'd like to know what the explanation was for an uncovered footbridge in Scotland though.

Planned to be complete in 2023.
We would anticipate that the station will be open by March 2024 – the end of our current five-year funding period – at the latest. We will though work with our stakeholders and partners to pull this date forward if possible.
My mistake, no code allocated yet for Beaulieu Park, at least not in RTT where I source the information.According to RTT, the 3Alpha (CRS) codes for the three new Birmingham stations are Kings Heath (KIH), Moseley Village (MOV) and Pineapple Road (PIR), if someone can verify and update OP.
Edit: The 3Alpha for Beaulieu Park (BEU) (in the OP) is already assigned to Beaulieu Road, so I'm guessing that is an error?
Yes. If a project has moved beyond putting up a boundary fence, a compound and basic site clearance that'll do me.Not sure if Cambridge South counts as being under construction now? There's a big compound, works on site, piles going in the ground, materials storage etc all going on. Mainly associated stuff at present - OLE, cabling, site clearance etc etc - no civils works for platforms etc yet, but I think that's still 'under construction'?
Fair enough! Definately counts then!Yes. If a project has moved beyond putting up a boundary fence, a compound and basic site clearance that'll do me.

Found another possible error. Cambridge South - I very much doubt CMS is the CRS as it's assigned to Cambridge Carriage Servicing Depot (unless this is no longer used?)
"CMS" being allocated to a carriage sidings would be unlikely. Locations that are not for passenger use would normally have a CRS code in the X__ series.
In my source data I can, however, see CMS allocated to Cambridge South, with TIPLOC CAMBSTH and NLC 3181.
To avoid confusion, this is on the (already electrified ) line to Neilston, not the (being wired) line to Barrhead.Construction of the new Barrhead South station is now due to start in Spring 2024, with completion 18 months later. The council is to give further details tomorrow.

New £18m railway station for Barrhead is on track for 2024
Construction of a new £18million railway station for Barrhead has been given the green light to start next year.www.barrheadnews.com
Craig Hoy is a Tory ex-cooncillor for East Lothian. He is now in the happy position of blaming every thing bad on the (SNP) Scottish government and attaching everything good to the (Tory) UK government. Lest I be accused of bias, I think they're all shameless opportunists. Is there an election soon?
2022 press release when work started:
Previous note on the Scotland's railway website:
Was this a new application or a renewal of previous permission to prevent it lapsing? Either way, there's still the small matter of funding to be secured I believe, unless that's already been approved by the Mayoral office.Planning Permission was granted for Elland on 28 February.
You know everything moves at a glacial pace in West Yorkshire on the railway. Was this a new application or a renewal of previous permission to prevent it lapsing? Either way, there's still the small matter of funding to be secured I believe, unless that's already been approved by the Mayoral office.
I wonder how often people will book tickets to Elland thinking it's convenient for a certain football ground. I remember reading years ago a property column in the Grauniad which described Elland as "a suburb of Leeds" despite having plenty of photos and maps included in the article which showed their error!![]()
It's not 'poor value for money', but is in a rather interesting situation. It's reasonable value for money if a suitable train service existed already and is just an add-on. It's only poor value if the station has to fund the new service too (with other infrastructure changes to make it work).Seems the proposed Devizes station has become seen as poor value for money, and therefore presumably won't be proceeding for time being

UPDATED: Findings of Devizes station feasibility study released today
The results of a feasibility study for the Department for Transport (DfT) into a new railway station for Devizes have been released today by Network Rail.www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk
It's not the only station in that position. However if the existing service can't be amended suitably, how else should the changes be billed if the sole driver would be to enable a service at a new station? It's not 'poor value for money', but is in a rather interesting situation.
