Very good, & informative. Shame they're having so many troubles at the mo, I'm sure they'll get there in the end. What a state of the ex-Virgin stock, power cars & coaching stock. I couldn't believe it when they showed the cab!!! What a mess!!!

The documentary didn't say where the drivers came from. Were they from other TOCs, or were they raw recruits with no previous driver experience?

Yeah - I felt it was a very positive spin (but then again it was telling GC's story, so would be from the GC point of view - few companies agree to a programme which might be negative about them) on the whole process, and didn't get into the backstory. There seemed also a slight condescending tone in the billing before hand - 'playing trains'.

Davenport probably came out marginally better than marcroft I thought.!
Yours truly was in it and so was Sir Clagalot...talking of clagging,you should have seen the amount coming out of 080,today as we passed pelaw,it was immense !!

I agree. It was a risky livery that could have gone so horribly wrong, but they've made it look fantastic, dynamic and bold.

It didn't finish late according to the clock on Sky. Started at 2248, finished at 2329. Again, I quote times displayed when I put it on and flicked it off.

The programme was rather boring IMO. I kept checking my watch during it at points, dragged on for too long at points.

One thing they didn't mention with respect to the coaching stock was the fact some of the issues were due to BT10 bogies not being available, with this only recently having become overcome in the factory where they're being done.

Then there was those runs with the 47s to the Cross. That was some time ago, surely before this programme was complete.

Like I say, I found it boring. As you said, it showed half a story.

Apart from the doors and the yellow noseband, I think they look a lot better than i had thought. Still think the interior ethos leaves a lot to be desired, but an opinions like an A$$hole, we all got one and they are all different.

any of our forum members in 080 today with the camera? Someone could be seen with what looked like a camera in the cab in a photo taken by the legend that is Snapper.

I'll bet the pair sounded mighty fine, the noise of the Valentas echoing around Kings Cross nicely...If only I'd seen it.

Congratulations to all involved, a mighty fine achievement to have finally gotten a train to London.
