My first reaction was that it was something to do with the Indian Motorcycle (as seen in the film "The World's Fastest Indian" in 2005).
My thought was that they might have been built on Merseyside and ridden by Rock and Roll artists, but I can't find any connection or proof of this.

Close enough you can have it. Many Indians were employed by the shipping & docking companies as ledger clerks, accountants etc.
Young Indians of that era were as interested as any other with this new music from the USA (often to rebel against very controlling families) and were able to use their position to 'cook the books' to squirrel away records from the US & also importantly get round import restrictions on US manufactured guitars & amps.
They also did a similar thing later on in getting 'Northern Soul' records into the UK on the cheap.
Its an almost unknown part of our modern music history & they deserve better recognition.

The largest trollybus fleet in the British Isles (by some way) was in London. Where were the second and third largest fleets to be found ?

At one time Wolverhampton was the largest anywhere and later over taken by London. So I'll go with that & Glasgow

Yes, I did, because all the places named still have bridges, whereas the one at Runcorn has been demolished.

Doh you said British Isles so must be Belfast as one of them. Am surprised Wolverhampton isn't third as it was the worlds largest in the 30's.

Surprisingly Walsall, although a well known trolleybus system, wasn't even in the top 20 in terms of maximum fleet size.
I'm not giving any clues because there aren't that many more large cities left to guess !!
