Close enough you can have it. Many Indians were employed by the shipping & docking companies as ledger clerks, accountants etc.
Young Indians of that era were as interested as any other with this new music from the USA (often to rebel against very controlling families) and were able to use their position to 'cook the books' to squirrel away records from the US & also importantly get round import restrictions on US manufactured guitars & amps.
They also did a similar thing later on in getting 'Northern Soul' records into the UK on the cheap.
Its an almost unknown part of our modern music history & they deserve better recognition.
