UY Scuti is indeed currently thought to be the largest star that we know of. At approximately 1708 solar radii (i.e., 1708 times larger than the sun at its diameter) it would engulf Jupiter and possibly Saturn if it was placed in the heart of our solar system. Traveling at the speed of light around the equator, it would take seven hours to circle once. It dwarfs Aldebaran, which at ~42 solar radii is already pretty big.

No, the land bases are all technically commissioned ships (Portsmouth Naval base is technically the ship HMS Nelson) so the people working there are assigned to those "ships"

No, Belfast is not commissioned anymore but is specially allowed to use HMS and fly the White Ensign.
