Both of which I would classify as "interesting", as per @KashmireHawker's description. It wasn't great, apart from the obvious demise of Verstoppen again, and the sight of Mercedes being much closer to Red Bull in race conditions.

Credit to both Albon and the Williams team as they had respectable race pace which got them a point for tenth. It wasn't great, apart from the obvious demise of Verstoppen again, and the sight of Mercedes being much closer to Red Bull in race conditions.
Doesn't Latifi come with a pile of cash though? Would Piastri be able to replace that?Wonder if a deal might be done next year for Oscar Piastri to replace Latifi in the other Williams, given Latifi quite often crashes?
It appears to be playing okay nowIt would be great if i could get All4 to actually play the blidy GP!

Yes, he brings a lot of sponsorship money and I think you're right another driver would be expected to match that.Doesn't Latifi come with a pile of cash though? Would Piastri be able to replace that?
I, along with a fair few others, thought Haas were in trouble without Mazepin's cash. Maybe Williams aren't so dependant on drivers who can bring money into the team now that they are owned by Dorilton?Yes, he brings a lot of sponsorship money and I think you're right another driver would be expected to match that.
The conclusion at the time was that Mr Haas would be capable of stumping up the cash to plug the funding shortfall.I, along with a fair few others, thought Haas were in trouble without Mazepin's cash.
That's what I was driving at with my Piastri comment, crashes have a real financial impact (excuse the puns). The way things are going at Aston Martin they'll be scavenging in the bin soon for parts!Another bad weekend for both Aston Martin drivers, and Latifi is definitely costing Williams a few quid so I hope his sponsorship is worth it

Does make you wonder if their car is particularly unpredictable or are both drivers a bit sub-par?their issue is that the crashes are not just from Stroll but from Vettel as well
Wonder if they will start to go down the route of some races abandoning the GP and replacing with three "sprints" and adding up the points from each? Like cricket where you get long Tests, but also one day games?Enjoyed the Imola sprint race highlights this evening. Was impressed with both Haas drivers finishing in the top 10 creating the opportunity to score more points in the Grand Prix tomorrow.
Agree.Wonder if they will start to go down the route of some races abandoning the GP and replacing with three "sprints" and adding up the points from each? Like cricket where you get long Tests, but also one day games?
I'm not bothered either way r/e sprints, what does is that this weekend 34 points (max) are up for grabs rather than 26. So if a driver misses out a sprint weekend through covid, or an injury, or maybe a penalty, they are disadvantaged more so than a normal one.
Verstappen was so dominant there! What a race by him. And Perez is looking really good this season, his pace is much closer to Verstappen's.
Awful race for Ferrari, that's the one thing about Leclerc, he is prone to mistakes. And Sainz get very unlucky there.
What is going on with Hamilton though, Russell is comfortably outperforming him. Superb race by both Russell and Bottas, and Tsunda, Vettel and Norris were great as well.
Gasly was awful though, got stuck behind the slowest car on the grid for ages.
You’ve answered it here. The Merc isn’t built for running in traffic (+ serious room for improvement). What is going on with Hamilton though, Russell is comfortably outperforming him. Superb race by both Russell and Bottas, and Tsunda, Vettel and Norris were great as well.

In a way Lewis has, as he now has the second car wit the yellow camera, which would previously be the one Valtteri drove.Instead of George taking Botta’s seat it looks like Hamilton did.
I can see the point about an absent driver losing more on a sprint weekend but I think this weekend was good from a fans viewpoint with plenty of entertainment. I do wonder why the race director took so long to enable DRS?I dislike the sprint format for that exact reason, plus it feels like it takes something away from the actual race itself.
It was due to the track still being wet offline where the DRS detection point was i believe.I can see the point about an absent driver losing more on a sprint weekend but I think this weekend was good from a fans viewpoint with plenty of entertainment. Porsche is said by F1 insiders to be preparing an alliance with Red Bull.
Porsche would partner with the team's new engine division, which has been set up to design and build the drinks brand's own power-unit for the new engine regulations due in F1 in 2026, and the team would run as Red Bull-Porsche.
Audi will come in as a team and has been linked with buying out an existing entrant.
It is said to have had talks with McLaren, Sauber, Aston Martin and Williams.
I see Williams Audi as a good thing.OFFICIAL: VW's CEO confirms that AUDI And Porsche are to ENTER FORMULA 1!![]()
All gone a bit quiet, hasn't it.I'd much rather an 11th team in Andretti-renault than a Porsche engine and Audi taking over one of the existing teams
All gone a bit quiet, hasn't it.
Regardless, 2 new Engine Suppliers on the grid is MASSIVE for the sport!
Confirmed by Autosport.Did I hear that right on Question Time, tonight? Vettel will be a panellist on next week's show? Lord above, if so...!
