Shame they missed out on Promotion to the SPL thanks to Falkirk, but the hoodoo has finally been lifted. Runners Up in the League Cup as well :p

TV pictures very clear in showing a mass pitch invasion by Hibs fans with mounted police deployed to assist with restoring order. A somewhat smaller number of Rangers fans also invaded but not clear if the two groups actually made "contact". Far more serious are the reports that some Rangers players and other members of staff were assaulted. And the aftermath revealed the resurrection of an old Scottish tradition of bringing down the goalposts. From an English perspective I can't help but think that sectarianism and football just will not be separated in Scotland's two great cities: am I wrong? (honest question)

Of course away from the public eye the two actually had a great deal of respect for each other. It wouldn't surprise me if Mourinho really had been Ferguson's first choice of successor had he been available. Will Mata be politely shown the door again? Chelsea fans would be happy to have him back.

Shame that a cracking good game will inevitably be remembered for the disgraceful scenes after the final whistle.

Rather ironic that Fergie apparently saved his job by beating Crystal Palace in an FA Cup final but LVG seems set for the sack for doing the same. Appallingly bad timing although it has to be said that there has been no official confirmation.

The Southern League sides will probably take note of that result too. Hereford might not have it easy next season.

North Eastern teams always win the vase. The quality in the Northern League is said to be higher than the comparable southern leagues

I do feel a bit sorry for Van Gaal, seeing as he's on death row and he knows it. I hope that the special one can do a better job.

Indeed, with such disgraceful behaviour, I hope it's another 100+ years, although I do welcome the club's statement.
Hibernian FC this evening confirmed that it will co-operate fully into any inquiry into the pitch invasion which followed the club’s historic Scottish Cup win at Hampden Park....

Heard there's tens of thousands appearing outside Glasgow hospitals trying to get a smile removed that's been there since Saturday afternoon.

I think LVG has been treated appallingly and I don't see Jose as anymore than a short term solution at best.

Let's hope that the Chinese do the right thing and sell off the land for Apartments... Alternatively they could sell it to Blues, saves the need for having to build a new stadium
