158847 had its first graffiti tag last week in its new livery - which probably isn't a surprise...

158783 should be next down to Bristol for its refresh, think 158866 is due back to the midlands very shortly but won't be in service for a bit.

Any word on how the first 360 refurbishment is progressing? Saw earlier in the thread it’s commenced at Northampton?

Pretty sure 158799 is also in for refurb, I recall seeing it mentioned in this thread

Yeah, it's been at Eastcroft for a few weeks. I went and had a look last weekend its just a shell but it's almost at the stage of carpets going in whilst cabs/toilets/vestibule and end saloon walls have all been painted but don't expect it to come out like 158847 - the paint job will be in the future.

So it will still be in EMT blue? Or will it be vinyled into EMR aubergine for now?

Hadn't seen or heard that Siemens were building a new facility for this but planning documents would suggest a new 2 track, 4-car shed has been built to the immediate North of the existing shed, on the west side of the site. This is not yet visible on Google Earth, but the details are on West Northants planning portal reference 2024/2351/MAF

360107 is pictured in the linked BBC News story, and a previous post in this thread on 11/08 by @Aspen90 means it's now been there at least 3 months.

170505 pretty much ready to leave Crewe Carriage Sidings now after it's refurbishment. I cleaned it yesterday afternoon.

Good news that 170505 is now back and 170506 has now gone for refurbishment but progress is still so slow. I remember travelling on the newly refurbished 170501 from Leicester to Nottingham at the end of May. Six months have now passed since then and only 4 more have been refurbished. Hopefully things will begin to speed up soon otherwise it’s going to take a good few years complete them all especially if the 3 car sets take even longer.

Good point.
How does this compare with the speed at which the XC 170s are being done I wonder?

They're about the same.

It's quite a heavy job stripping everything out and renewing everything from the seats to the PIS to the WiFi.

Crewe are doing an EMR 170, an XC 170 and a Chiltern 168 at the same time plus whatever else they've got on so they're actually knocking things out pretty quickly.

It's forecast to take another 2 to 3 years to do all the 170s.
