The irony is that the side he will be playing with suspended one of thier players due to an assault charge.
Fair to say the ECBs bull is being called out at the moment.
Stokes, of course, was born in NZ and still has family there and the ECB indicate they didn't know he was going to NZ. If the ECB were upto mischief why not find an Aussie club and parachute him in there on a contract till the end of the Ashes?
It is clear that the CPS wont make a decision on what charges, if any, Stokes should face for several weeks. He will then need to be summonsed with a date to appear before the court thereafter, ideally about 4 weeks but often longer. He isnt going to play much part in the Ashes series. Should he be prevented from earning a living until he is charged & convicted?
BTW I am sure the Aussies would never resort to any form of gamesmanship/sledging/clever antics/boozing/having a ruck at all. Ever. Anyway - Stokes or no Stokes Aus will win the ashes.
