Just passed Doncaster, looks like another 458/5 will soon be on the move south, sitting outside the works all shiny and blue. Didn't manage to catch the number.
That's definitely the explanation they have used on the SWT webchat when it has come up before. Presumably it keeps the overall number of drivers/guards rostered for the day the same as a normal Sat or Sun or whatever...
What's happening with the 458 parked at Clapham yard? Doesn't seem to have moved at all for ages - will they just send it up north to be converted rather than fix it now?
Is it the end for 8015?
Yup over a week now.Don't know, wanted to have a word with the shunter about it.(8015)+Mustache gone.
I definitely remember it being said that 8015 was next to go up.
8511 returned earlier this week, with extra coach 74435.
I've seen 8510 at Wimbledon.Just strange 8015 hasn't moved in over a week.
8015 is the next unit to go to Doncaster. It has been stopped at Clapham Yard since 13-3-15 as has run out of C4 Miles
I was thinking about that yesterday. It was an issue with paths during the mainline diverts, but that isn't the case here as you mentioned. It can't be lack of stock either, as there will be all the 455s only used on peak extras, as well as both colours of 456, before we get to any 450/458/459. That reason was given last year during the Ascot races, that stock was needed for extra services. Therefore the only logical issue I can think of is to do with finding crew.
All toilets being out of use seems to be an irritatingly common problem with 458/5s.Nor did any of the 4 toilets in the consist appear to be in use.
458 015 was not present at Clapham Yard this afternoon - unless it's been moved to a different siding?
Think you may have missed it - still there in the same place this morning.

015 is currently in Clapham yard, no idea of the road number as I was in a rush to jump on 502
Another failure this morning. My usual 07.46 Feltham to Waterloo cancelled - train fault again.![]()

Change of plan... 8026 went to Doncaster on 6-4-15. Unit 8015 remains out of use at Clapham Yard.
I know.I was on 37 road yesterday on the 159's which are generally based on 45+ road before being worked to Waterloo. One question, what does on tail light being on mean?

One tail light on non drivers side means the unit is cut out. Nothing major![]()
Just as I thought they were doing so well with full requirement in service :P:
I was on the 1518 from Hounslow to Waterloo, arriving without any drama. Passengers allowed off before units were attached (Platform 19). I watched the attachment, which seemed to work as expected. However, for some reason the train then moved forward, coming into contact with the buffer stops! Result: The 1615 cancelled due to an operating incident.
May cause issues later with crew and units on the next service, the 1752, and beyond that.
