New timetable in place but still a stock shortage. The 8.20 Guildford to Waterloo is only 4 coaches so they cancelled some stops. Can't get on to South West Trains Web Site right now to see if any others. It's certainly less short formations than it use to be.

The 456 plus 455 are booked in South sidings, departing Waterloo at 10,18 (from memory), to South sidings, ECS to Hampton Court and then back to Wimbledon depot.

Another set booked in there 0820-0901 too. Similar movement, ECS out to Hampton Court and back to Wimbledon.

Saw the 1637 Guildford-Waterloo via Cobham today. It's still running as an 8-450 so I presume the whole of the Suburban 450 diagram is still running.

The 8.36 Guildford to Waterloo is still a 450 as well. Don't know if it's part of the same train diagram. It's nice for the people living along the Cobham route, having a couple of trains with loos. In the London direction at least.

It is indeed the same diagram. Spends all day on Suburban duties; Hampton Court, Guildford (down via Epsom, up via Cobham), Chessington South and Dorking are the places it visits.

I haven't seen it today but it's been running up and down every other day this week so far. I missed the 456s this morning too. The result of a rather lazy day off sick.

Well it came into Waterloo and then I worked it 455 first to South Sidings then Hampton Court.Tripped the lights out on the 455 as we we OOU.Three times but they tripped themselves back in again. At Hampton Court the train lights were off on the 456's though.Got it to Wimbledon Depot completing my debut on them.455534+456014+456006 with 456006 leading coming back from Hampton Court.

There were 450s on another suburban diagram today, I don't know if that was instead of the usual one. An 8-car 450 worked the 1037 Guildford-Waterloo via Cobham.

456006+456014+455741 were having issues when I caught them yesterday on the 0907 Guildford-Waterloo via Cobham. The driver was unable to release the brakes at London Road (Guildford) for a while.

It was late in today...did you take the guards with you that were waiting on the platform for it?!

No,it's only empties so guard not needed.

I got back from Southampton at 1030 and noticed a 455/456/456 combo in the South Sidings waiting to go to Wimbledon..Obviously there are more than one set of that combo.

Saw a couple of unidentified (but pre-overhaul/painting) 456s go through Winchester around 1300 or so, RTT shows a 5Z39 running from Strawberry Hill at 1053 to Bournemouth TRSMD.

(Although I got a quick phone picture, I couldn't make out a unit number on the front.)

Not a usual sight down here...

5734 and 5741 are the 455's with the latest PIS/CFA set up and are the only ones that can work with red 456s.

There are four red 456s that are runners. So two eight car combos.

5734 and 5741 can also work with each other. I presume this is what they do in the evening when no 456s are out. They were out together on Reading services the other weekend too.

There was a 10-car test out today. Formed 456+456+455+456. Ran ECS Wimbledon Park-Guildford and return, calling all stations Hinchley Wood-Guildford.

Think I spotted a 455+2x456 together heading towards Clapham Junction yesterday, would that be right? Not really up to speed on how many of these units are working passenger services and how, it's a bit more complex than the 458/5s :)

456003 led another 456 and a 455 on the 0831 from Dorking today. The front destination display did not work, the internal scrolling 'next station' display either lagged behind reality or ahead of it and the station staff at Epsom had to kick the front set of doors hard several times to get them to close!
Internally, the layout is poor, with few seats aligning with windows, the old toilet small window remaining in place rather than being replaced with a proper window (giving a blank wall by those seats!) and what must be the least space between facing seats on the network - passengers' feet have to touch each other all the time as there is so little space.
Not impressed with this slow and badly-planned refurbishment.
