Being cynical and I am sorry but as they're brand new I would expect them to do that anyway
It's like a cycle with worn brakes vs a cycle with brand new brakes, the one with brand new brakes will always stop a lot better then the one with worn brakes.
Having said that, it also depends on the driver too depending on their experience driving as not every driver has the same experience, now with all that said I'm glad the 387s are finally out on the TL. I just hope they see some weekend workings too![]()
But the older brakes will always be more reliable. A lot of units (Cough458/5cough) will have teething troubles when first introduced, and if you think about it, the most reliable trains are never younger than 5 years old (e.g. 357's, 321's etc.)
