Class 317 run down - diagrams and workings

The 317s (and 455s) will be gone soon while their diesel contemporaries, the 150s, could soldier on until 2040 on GWR and Northern, the date by which all dmus are supposed to be withdrawn. Yet electric units should have a longer lifespan than diesel.

As indicated in Tiger - https://tiger.worldline.global/LIVST/ciss - (look for 8 car consist) 0858 and 0958 liverpool Street to Cambridge North are pairs of 317s. As are 0912 and 0942 to Hertford East.
The Hertford East diagram repeats every 2 hrs. I.E 1112 1142 1312 1342 1512 1542 etc.
Cambridge North usually repeats every 3.5 hrs. So 0858 0958 1228 1328 1558 1656 etc
EDIT
1000 Stratford to Bishops Stortford also showing as 8 car 317 - this returns and does a return trip to Meridian Water from Stratford at 1216. And then the 1300 to Stortford again.

17 units in traffic today, including a pair on Stansted Express again. 317501 hasn't been seen since January. 317341 and 317885 are at Aldersbrook sidings. 317344 was stabled at Cambridge and 317507 was out yesterday. That just leaves 317502 unaccounted for. The number of diagrams is actually going up. Two week ago there were eight, last week there were 10 and this week there are 12.

Incidentally the Stansteds are getting rather busy again. A single 720 would not be popular at all.

At Cambridge a young girl got on and asked "is this first class?" Are the 720 seats so basic that the public thinks 317 seats are first class?

I’m assuming she didn’t enter the declassified first class section which definitely still stands out from the rest of the train…?

I noticed two moved to Parkeston recently - 342 (I think) and 343, 2 of the 12 ex-GN units.

Interesting. A trusted contact on the GE side says there are more 321 diagrams too and less 720's - despite more new units being accepted into service. A driver i met yesterday claims the 720s keep breaking down..even though i personally haven't been on a 720 that failed in service yet...and i have been on quite a few.

I was in the motor coach. Perhaps the facing seat bays fooled her?

To be fair, they've done a fair bit of work on them recently. The seats are all back in one piece and various other niggly faults have been fixed. The motor car of 317501 was freezing cold. Perhaps that is why it hasn't been out recently.

There were three single sets out today. Nine class 317s likely to end at Cambridge tonight in various formations so tomorrow will be another gala.

510 solo
513+886 (stabled Orient Way)

338 was solo on the 1042 Liv St - Hertford East and return, it was then joined by 506 (unsure where it came from) and the formed the 1258 Liv St - Cambridge, with 337+507 arriving ECS to form the 1242 Hertford East.

The workings change every day; there were four pairs up and down to Cambridge off peak yesterday. A few pairs stable at Cambridge most nights but the allocated diagrams appear to be completely random.

The following diagram has been solid throughout.
