Because there is no logic in government?....
Nope, not yet. They join the large family of stock with fixed end dates and no new home to go to (including 377s, 379s, 360s, 319s, 172s, 321s...). Luckily for their owners they are very unlikely to be out of service for long.
Logically SWT to replace 158s allowing them to then concentrate on W of E work also gives them commonality with the 4/5DES fleet,
Of course we know the railway doesn't do logic....
Neither do you. SWT would have been a dumb idea as you would end up with a mixed fleet and not much commonality with the electric Desiros either.
The idea belongs in the bin anyway, as we know what First/MTR are doing.
Any idea where 185101 is today (Thursday 3rd) ??
Ardwick.
I travel on the 185s most days and I've started to notice more constantly revving up and down when idling. Is this a normal thing?
Is it still in? I'm waiting for it to show up on the Northern services!
It's on Manchester to Hull services today and will form the 10:38 from Hull.
Noticed today that 185123, whilst in the new scheme, still has the unit numbers on the cab ends, instead of the sides as with the rest of the newly livered units. Does anybody know why?
