    Loco Thrash & Clag

I always like this clip, but not sure if it's entirely subject specific! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXUvKC1d-SM&

Stations with names not from that location

Warwick Parkway is pretty much next to the village of Budbrooke.

    Station Cats

Leamington Spa had one until recently - she was called Turbo and once boarded a train and ended up in Birmingham (I think)

    Riots in Birmingham/London/Manchester etc

BBC News are claiming Trains aren't running in Birmingham. But National Rail twitter/service updates are saying it's fine. The reason i'm mentioning this is that i'm changing at New Street tomorrow afternoon.

    Several stations closed

I noticed that the Furniture Store that was set alight was right next to the Tramlink, it looked like the tracks were on fire too.

Strangest Thing Seen on a Train

This happened to me a month or so ago on a service from Coventry to New Street - the difference was there were FOUR people involved! Making good use of the toilet space on the Voyager it would seem.

    XC Double Voyager services

I'd say in the last two months i've been on about 4 or 5 double Voyager services out of around 40 journeys. On the Manchester - Bournemouth service. Seem to be common in the evenings between Coventry and Leamington.

Stations far away from the towns they serve

Beaulieu Road instantly springs to mind. It's in the middle of nowhere... Warwick is a good 15 minute walk into the town centre. Hatton Station is a good mile or so from the actual village. Claverdon is about half a mile out of the village

    services you'd like to see

Nuneaton-Bedworth-Coventry-Leamington. Hourly. Would relieve overcrowding at peak hours on the hourly Cross Country service between Leamington and Coventry.

Bicester line to transfer to Chiltern Railways

There is a wooden bridge on the line however, it passes over the River Ray, I think the limit over this particular bridge is 25MPH.

    Level crossing chase

Rightly so! I'm sick of drivers blaming the railways for their idiocy. Suppose it doesn't help when Phillip Hammond comes out and says that Cars should have priority over Trains, though. This country.

    Rubbish left on trains

On the 11:25 from Coventry to Leamington yesterday I noticed half the contents of a Starbucks coffee shop on two seats. Disgusting. I don't mind the odd paper here and there but sometimes it goes too far.

    Fare dodging at Wigan Wallgate

At New Street you could easily get away with flashing any old ticket at the ticket inspectors considering the amount of people who use the station.

    Football Special

Wasn't that hard! About a 15 minute bus ride.

    Football Special

It's the same at Coventry's new-ish ground. It's right next to the Coventry - Nuneaton which only sees one service an hour in each direction. It's crying out for a halt! Oh and as a side note I didn't make it up to the Globe Arena this season but I shall be there next season.

    Stupid things

The scene: Platform Two, Leamington Spa (Northbound, for those who don't know) Woman, asking a station attendant in Chiltern Uniform: Is this the platform for Banbury? Station attendant: I can't remember, sorry.

    Football Special

Another thought to consider regarding the lack of Football Specials is that a lot of New Stadia are built out of town and therefore usually miles away from the nearest train station. For example, my club Oxford play 3 miles from Oxford Station. Although the freight only line to the Mini plant...

    Football Special

WSMR also stopped at Bicester North when Oxford United played away at Wrexham last season and it proved very popular. I do however remember coming back from Wrexham and the air conditioning breaking down in our coach! Shame I had to get off at Wolverhampton to change, it was a very pleasant journey.

The service with the most stops?

Does the 06:30 Leamington Spa to Great Malvern still run? That had something like 29 stops, which is insane considering as the crow flies, it's only around 45 miles.

    Great heck (selby) train crash

What a disgusting quote from Gary Hart. Thoughts are with the families of those who were lost 10 years ago today.
