Strangest Thing Seen on a Train

Apologies if this has come up before but, I've seen a few odd things that people have attempted to get on a train with lately, and after a chat with a TI after getting on with my cat and seeing a man attempt to board a train with a 15ft canoe. This has prompted me to ask what's the oddest thing you have seen or heard of on a train? As a footnote I've heard also the tale of the guy trying to board with a horse.

The horse wasn't just a tale, it was a BBC News story complete with CCTV pictures.

One Christmas heading up Scotland there was a lady at the table across the aisle that had a rabbit (in an animal carrier) on the table. This was fairly odd, but then, as I was going up the steps having got off at Waverly, there was another person coming down also carrying a rabbit.

I saw the strangest thing I've ever seen on a train on Wednesday at Cardiff at 09:58. It was such a bizarre thing to see on a passenger train that you may not believe me at first. It was, wait for it...... a LOCOMOTIVE!!!

Some guy doing a big f**k-off line of Cocaine (it sure did look like it. What else would you snort in a line?) on the seat to the right of me on the other side on a train going into Glasgow Central on a Saturday night. Kind of explains it, doesn't it? I didn't know where to look.

What are the consequences of being caught bashing the bishop on a train (or for that matter any public place)? Is prosecution a likely possibility? Could be an embarrassing one that.

I heard of someone being served the full four sandwiches on East Coast, but I think it was just a rumour

In seriousness, I did see a guy trying to get onto a tram in Sheffield with a washing machine!

A few years ago I saw a teenager get on a 321 unit at Ipswich with a sofa - and before anyone asks, he had valid tickets both for himself and the sofa.

I am still haunted by an incident on a train at Langley Mills
involving an old lady , a slow moving automatic toilet door and a packed vestibule.
The old lady failed to lock the toilet and a passenger failed to exit the train thru the right door.

It was like a slow motion movie as the full horror of what was happening sank in... the door slid silently open. She looked up and screamed .

I am all for modern technology but give me a bolt lock any day of the week . You know where you are with a bolt.

I bet that doesn't happen anything like as much now trains have cctv in them.

This happened to me a month or so ago on a service from Coventry to New Street - the difference was there were FOUR people involved! Making good use of the toilet space on the Voyager it would seem.

Once I saw an electronic reservation system work properly - then the train had to reverse out of Birmingham and normal disservice was resumed.

Only if they have a WMPTE concessionary pass. It wasnt the wanting to board that was strange but the "am I too early?" question...especially as the departure board said it was the 0930.

Now that is impressive..... At least there were 4 spare seats....

I cant think how many questions i have about what the hell made them decide to do it in a stinky toilet on a voyager........... Although to be honest that isnt what alarms me the most
