I injured my leg in the autumn and am still on crutches. I have used the train successfully and didn't book any assistance as stairs are easier than a ramp and I had a friend with me.
Next month I have a one way trip from Waterloo to Eastleigh late in the evening and I know it is bus/coach from...
Sorry if this is the wrong place, feel free to move.
I booked to see a show with a friend on 4th Feb. I booked in November so engineering wasn't out but checked as soon as published in December and nothing showing. Get towards the end of December and start looking at trains and last direct one...
SWR put out a Do Not Travel on Monday - seemingly for their whole network. I worked from home but looked and my train ran and was only a few minutes late! I agree it wasn't worth the risk of not getting home later but can I claim for anything? (I have an annual season ticket on a smart card).
Paris Metro will be a bit different this summer with higher prices and weekly navigo unavailable. Does anyone know the logistics of this? Can I add a Paris 2024 pass to my existing Navigo pass or do I need something totally separate?
I was lucky enough to go to Paris for a week and have just returned. I travelled out on the 09:31 on 21/01 and got to St Pancras at 08:10. I thought that would give me plenty of time to stop at the café for a coffee and croissant to set me up for my day.
It took an hour to get to the waiting...
This Saturday I am going to London (from Eastleigh). There are engineering works and the journey planners are showing journies that cannot exist. I am booked on the 23:35 WAT-ESL direct that will not run. I keep checking and asking and still cannot be given an itinerary. This seems crazy 2 days...
I have a long planned trip to Birmingham planned. Due to engineering works I'd planned to make my own way to Basingstoke then Cross Country to Banbury and Chiltern to Birmingham Moor Street on 24/11, coming back on 26/11 booked as 2 separate tickets through TrainPal.
My return legs are both...
I have a SWR Eastleigh-Winchester Annual Season ticket on a Smart Card. I saw the big signs saying railcards an now be added to Tap2Go so added it and have had my railcard approved. I thought it would be great for things like going to Southampton or Hedge End and not having to use a paper ticket...
I've noticed the shiny retail area in the old Eurostar terminal is looking closer to completion - the toilets there were even on offer as additional toilets at the jubilee!
What seems odd to me is the amount of other retail on the main concourse closed for long refurbs - Costa, Burger King and...
I am going to London on Saturday, need to arrive by 11 and leave after 9:30.
Posters say lines through Woking are closed but journey planners say change at Basingstoke and get on the train (from exeter) to Waterloo. That train would through Woking!
It looks to me like they haven’t removed that...
I have just seen that SWR are starting a new timetable from 17/01 and the trains I rely on to get home after going to the theatre are gone. I get the 23:05 Waterloo to Eastleigh. These are still on on Saturdays but I have a Tuesday and a Friday coming up. it seems the last direct train is 22:09...
I am hoping to go to London on the 8th of January for a couple of shows.
I have looked on the journey planner and there are engineering works but the journey planner seems to be making things even worse. It has given me this itinerary:
09:14 - 09:24 Eastleigh - Winchester Train
09:48 - 10:24...
I asked the below before the world changed. Is zip card going away? The website looks normal but I heard it was then delayed to the spring. Our trip is now hopefully happening 29th May. if they can use the zip card again it will be worth getting it but not if it is useless after that weekend...
I can get a cheap Advance fare for my planned (restriction easing allowing) journey from Eastleigh to Chessington South going via Waterloo - £8.70 each way at certain times.
I have a couple of linked queries - is it both legs where I have to get the specified train? it gives a 39 minute wait at...
I am going from Eastleigh to Chichester on Sunday (on an off peak day return using my network railcard.
I have a suggested itinerary of changing at Portsmouth and Southsea. I was originally going to ask if I can have a break of journey at Portsmouth Harbour instead but after having a search...
I was planning to go to the ideal home show And The theatre at the end of March so booked an advance ticket for Eastleigh to London and back. I paid mainly with vouchers from delay repay and the odd extra couple of pounds by card that was in February. When it became clear that wouldn’t happen I...
I'm taking my nieces to London in May and we are staying over in Croydon. We usually use the tube so they are free if accompanied but this will be a train ride. I can get them
Discounted travelcards with my gold card discount (or plan a train route all the way from home that is valid but...
I travel from Eastleigh to Winchester for work so have had a rough fortnight!
The original advice was that they would contact season ticket holders (mine is annual) about compensation but I've heard nothing.
I have had 2 days where I didn't try to get the train home as I didn't know if it was...
My French friend is flying home from Luton airport on Sunday 22nd. I’m worried she’ll get there ok by train on the day and as fate would have it I am staying in Croydon the night before (as I’m going to the theatre and wouldn't have got home due to the strike) so am suggesting she stays in...
i am going through a petty phase and making sure I always claim my delay repay from Southwestern railway.
Today I took my 6 year old nieces to bournemouth (From Eastleigh) for the day. They were struggling with the journey home and when we got to Southampton airport parkway our connection was...
