Passed the arrival of a old unit arriving at Denham's scrapyard at Shildon yesterday , I think it was unit number 4041 or 4043. I have attached a photograph.

I listened to GB news the other night and there was an interview with a retired naval commodore about the difficulty of recruitment for the navy.
The commodore said we pay train drivers more salary than an officer saling/fighting some of our warships.

Having a few days around the Birmingham area, and would like to photograph some of the West Midlands stock. Can anyone suggest a good station to photograph at please. New St is a no no to dark and not very pleasant.

Visited Chathill station yesterday, to find there was not any seating provided, even the small waiting room was lock off. What other station are not passenger focused on looking after passengers.

I have been doing my family tree and came across a relative was listed as a coach builder. The relative had worked for the railways all his life ending up working at Shildon. Was there any railway coaches builders in the Penrith area where he was born and worked as a young man.
