I saw this earlier in Modern Railways. Not confirmed but SE are pushing for it. Emminently sensible I'd say. I've been advocating it here - those 319s not allocated and are spare post class 700 could go there. There seems to be hardly any SE users on here so the 319 threads suggest some weird...
I can find tickets from Vienna or Graz to Zagreb online no problems at Austrian railways site, but no returns at all. I thought in the past I had seen some.
Am I wrong and do I have to buy at the station, and is it the same cheap price as online?
Due to 'safety checks'. 65 cancellations so far on the southeastern website. http://www.journeycheck.com/southeastern
It's going to be horrible getting into work. A few trains terminating or departing from various other stations - Elephant & castle, Blackfriars and London Bridge.
Trains to...
Due to London Bridge rebuilding and seeming lack of planning there's some big capacity cuts coming from January. The line through Greenwich is seeing a third of trains cut and around 20-25% of passenger capacity cut at the busiest evening peak time.
I'm wondering what the effects will be and...
I'm thinking of taking a TLK train from Katowice to Warsaw. The EIC is too expensive so its this or a coach. The train is slower but may be more interesting.
However looking at old threads it seems TLK can get very busy. I would be going early afternoon so is it still busy?
Another thing is...
There has recently been a rolling program of refurbishing Class 465/0/1/2 and 466 stock though it has been an extremely limited 'refurb'. I'm not talking of the traction package but the interior. It's not a patch on others I have seen around the country, or seen pics of on here. New seat covers...
The blockade begun on the 22nd December and runs until the 6th January. It involves removing the two central tracks and installing a third platform where they stood so a reduction to three tracks. Progress can be seen on these great flickr pics (which aren't mine) -...
I have a couple of rail vouchers from delay repay and would like to add them to an oyster card. I have seen previous threads where people say this can be done at London overground and tube stations. However I am in SE London and the nearest LO station is miles away, as is the nearest tube at...
There's a hell of a lot of short formed trains tonight following a pattern in recent weeks. Any idea why - a result of the storms perhaps damaging trains? Also a fair few train failures this week amidst other problems on the network.
Over recent months dating back to the olympics they had...
On southeastern's page this morning it says that the 12 car 4:09am from Gillingham to Charing Cross will be 8 instead of 12 coaches. This goes via Bexley & Mottingham.
Has 12 coach running begun then, except for when they don't have enough stock? :D I recall hearing that the Sevenoaks line may...
I remember reading a while ago that there was a proposal to increase the limit from 62.5 to 65 mph. Did this happen? And do people think there is a case for increasing to 70mph? There's been many coach trips I've been on where the road is clear and 70mph would be fine, and make coaches more...
Southeastern have today put this news on their website http://www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/news/latest-news/gravesend-station-to-undergo-a-major-19-million-upgrade-this-christmas-and-new-year-period/
It's good to have confirmed dates for it. Once complete 12 car trains will be able to run to...
No TOC in London has above 81% punctuality today - worst I can remember in a long time. Anyone caught out? Definitely a day for a beer after work rather than taking the train.
London Bridge & Cannon Street looked bad earlier. Cannon Street was closed as was much of London Bridge with knock on...
Just wondering when the direct trains finally begin (April?) how long the journey will take? Is 5 hours possible non stop? Dobnt they will run non stop but maybe one a day?
There's been quite a few whispers recently that an announcement will be made in April that TfL will take over some Southeastern and Greater Anglia routes mainly operating within London. They are the Southeastern network inner-suburban services from Dartford, Sevenoaks and Hayes, and the West...
I have a bargain berth e-ticket to Fort William and was wondering if I join Scotrail's advance club (it says you need a sleeper ticket to join but isn't more specific) could I use the Virgin lounge at Euston?
On oyster fare finder a trip on a SE train from zone 4 to Euston would cost £3.70 apparently. However doing that journey requires touching out at London Bridge and then touching in to the tube. Would it charge as 2 journeys (£2.70 train and £2 tube) or does the system realise it's one trip and...
I've a season ticket with southeastern to 'London Terminals' which I use to London Bridge, and occasionally Charing Cross. With the re-opening of Blackfriars I was wondering just what 'London Terminals' includes. There's London Bridge, Waterloo East, and Charing Cross. But what about London...
I'm looking to book a ticket from Valencia to Madrid in february on a weekend. I wouldn't book in the UK on a weekend without checking first, but can't find details for that far ahead in Spain. Are there often engineering works on a Saturday on the Valencia - madrid line does anyone know? I...
Over the past three weeks Southeastern have been running many, many trains short. I would estimate that 3/4 have been below normal levels. I use the train everyday so have seen the change, as I last used Southeastern daily for months over the winter and spring and the situation is now far worse...
