Today I Learned, that with ScotRail at least, just because you
book passenger assistance eight days before you travel
arrive at the station half an hour before travel
knock on the ticket office window to attract the attention of the member of staff in there who just ignores you...
(I'm not sure what forum this would go in)
I may have made this up in my memory somewhere, but I'm sure that there was something in the Abellio ScotRail franchise that they have to create an app or something that will show passengers how services are formed, and provide live passenger loading...
Hey folks,
Quick question for those that understand ticketing and routeing and all that.
Tomorrow myself and friend are travelling from Linlithgow to Motherwell via Edinburgh Waverley. Ticket Route just shows Any Permitted.
Is this ticket valid for the journey? (All the passenger...
So ScotRail are not having a good day.
There has been a points failure between Perth and Gleneagles. Nothing completely unusual, these sort of things happen.
This is affecting services between Glasgow and Aberdeen and Glasgow/Edinburgh and Inverness.
The problem ScotRail are having, is...
Hi folks,
Anyone know what the current state of the Strathclyde Manning Agreement is? My understanding is that there basically must be a TE on a DOO service or it must be cancelled.
I regularly see evening services with no TE on them, and wondering whats happening
Surprised I cant see this posted yet, but there has been major disruption at Uddingston affecting ScotRail, CrossCountry and Virgin Trains WC services since just before 1700 today.
380022 was involved in this incident, the exact cause is under investigation but from the picture you will see...

I don't want to start yet another DOO arguement, and the article (obviously) doesnt give full details, but I do imagine this would not have happened if there was a conductor despatching the train...

And yes this driver deserves a some sort of commendation

Hi folks,
The Level Crossing in Motherwell seems to be controlled by traffic lights rather than the normal 2 reds and a yellow signal.
Is this common and does it happen anywhere else...
Having read the article, is there not a better way for the driver to contact the guard in a situation like this? And wouldnt the guard have checked anyway whether the train was fully on the platform...
Hey folks, odd question, and it may just be co-incidence, but I have travelled on 320301 between Motherwell and Glasgow Central quite a few times recently, and it has always been couples to 320302, does they just travel together all the time, and is there a particular reason for it?
Or is it...
So for at least the third time since Abellio took over the ScotRail franchise they are having issues where they cannot accept payment at TVM's by Credit or Debit card, and now the SmartCard is not working at barriers either.
I cant remember these problems ever happening regularly...
Hey folks, hoping yous can help me with a question.
Aside from Manual announcements, door operation and train despatch, and ticket checks/sales; what other duties is it normal for a Conductor on a non-DOO service to have?

Not a trip I will be making, but would this ticket be honoured if someone bought it? It's clearly an error
The problem that ScotRail suffered recently, which resulted in all their TVM's being unable to accept credit or debit cards, has seemingly resurfaced again, with ScotRail twitter putting out an advisory at 1426 on Xmas Eve of all days.
Hi folks,
Got a question regarding the wheelchair space on trains.
It's in relation to a journey I took on a ScotRail Class 156 last week.
As it was a single set, there was only one wheelchair space on the train.
There was already a wheelchair user on the train and he had booked...
