Hey folks, odd question, and it may just be co-incidence, but I have travelled on 320301 between Motherwell and Glasgow Central quite a few times recently, and it has always been couples to 320302, does they just travel together all the time, and is there a particular reason for it?

Or is it just luck that I have always been on 301 when they are together?

They would have to be split when due exams. Probably just coincidence.

Am I right in thinking that 6-car working is the norm on Glasgow suburban services? As they were converted at the same time, if they always run together they'll be due for exams at the same time too.

No, it isn't. It's only the norm during peak hours. (There's a few off-peak services with six-cars, but that's to avoid ECS moves.)

It's probably just coincidence. That said, sometimes particular units can often be found stuck working in pairs for long periods if there's a defect with one of the units, or a defect in one particular cab. Often diagrams are arranged so there may be one or two diagrams which work as a pair all day and don't uncouple to allow for this.
