Does anyone know what has subsequently happened to the driver involved? Is anyone other than myself supportive of him?

I'm increasingly coming to see this matter of Penalty Fares, etc, as not so much a defence against fraudulent travel, but rather as, for the TOCs, a Nice Little Earner. As has been pointed...
I'm a bit out of touch with what's going on at EMR, could someone enlighten me in respect of what happened to the idea for EMR to base stock and crews at Liverpool?
Can the battery units not be used on electrified line? If they can't, they're going to have a job doing Headbolt Lane - Liverpool Central, or wherever it is they're going to be running to.
I never cease to be amazed how much empty running there is on Britain's railways. This morning, Northern's 2K30 (0603 Manchester Piccadilly - Crewe) was cancelled through lack of a conductor. Naturally enough, the return 2F23 (0713 Crewe - Liverpool Lime Street via Manchester Airport) was...
Northern's 'Journey Check' is showing the 0651 Chester - Piccadilly as being formed of one carriage instead of two. Can anyone confirm that it is indeed a 153 operating this service? I didn't know 153s ventured on to the Mid-Cheshire line.
It's also showing as running 17 minutes late, having...
I hope this isn't a silly question, but how long have 158s been doing Clitheroes? The recent norm seems to have been Sprinter + 153, or Sprinter on its own.
The Hope Valley line (eastbound) appears to be blocked, possibly by the 0418 Peak Forest Cemex to Ely Papworth Sidings, which doesn't seem to have got any further than Earles Sidings SB.
The 0547 Picc-Sheffield has been terminated at Hazel Grove and the 0638 and 0711 cancelled, as has the 0712...
Does anyone know why it is bus substitution today (Sunday 13/10/19) between Manchester Piccadilly and Hadfield? According to RTT it's pre-planned substitution, but there's nothing showing on 'Improvement Works'.
Sorry if this has been addressed before, if it has I must have missed it.
The Bolton to Blackburn line was blocked for about an hour this morning due to the following working coming to grief somewhere around Entwistle.

Delay attribution refers to it as an RHTT, so I presume that's what it was. Luckily...
I've decided to create a new thread for 195 diagrams in order to make them more accessible. Please contribute corrections where necessary.
Firstly, Monday to Friday diagrams, and here mikemcniven got us off to a great start (in post #1 of the '195: Initial Diagrams' thread) with the seven...
The Chat Moss line (Eastbound) has been blocked since 0515 this morning.
This seems to be the culprit.

Could someone possibly tell me what it is that distinguishes a Goods Loop from a Passenger Loop? I presume the effect is that a Goods Loop can only be used for goods trains, whereas a Passenger Loop can be used for either goods or passenger trains, but what is it that qualifies a loop to be...
I see that 'Journey Check' is showing a late Liverpool - Wilmslow and a late Liverpool - Wigan as formed of two carriages (both of which are diagrammed for 319s). I appreciate that some 319 diagrams have now finished for the day - do you know where else a 156 was substituting for a 319?
Can anyone say why the published Northern timetable for the above service shows an expiry date of 28 Jan? The only thing happening on 29 Jan (to my knowledge) is the reopening of the Preston to Blackpool South section of line - but I haven't heard of any plans to run through from Liverpool.
I...
